The Hulk and Two-Face

Here's a cover where the final product looks rather simple, but required a lot of background de-cluttering, extending and rebuilding before I could replace Batman with The Hulk.  Here's a look at the behind the scenes process:

  1. happy 2024 yet??
Ross, that cover brings to mind the penny in the bat cave for Hulk to toss. But then, Joe fixit comes to mind (mind is a terrible thing to rent out) waiting out of camera range. Hulk might do it for a Hostess fruit filled. And it all makes sense now!
Next, we'll see Hulk eat a whole meal correctly. Well done Mr Dent, well done!!

  2. Once again, Ross, you prove how deceptive the "effortlessness" of your labors can be. Thank you for all your hard work during 2023. And Happy New Year, too!

  4. Even better, a Two-Face & Doc Samson cover. He fixed the Hulk's mind, so why not try with Dent's?

  5. It's great to see these two together, as both were inspired in part by Henry Jekyll and Edward Hyde.

  6. I was just reminded that this year is the 20th anniversary of the movie "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen."

Some time this year -- ideally, on 11 July, the actual anniversary date -- maybe we could see the League of Ordinary Gentlemen: Rick Jones, "Snapper" Carr, Richard Castle, Norville "Shaggy" Rogers, et al.

  7. Wow;now here's a pairing that I NEVER would have thought of;but it totally works! Surprisingly for a villain; it feels "a like Two-Face is genuinely trying to HELP The Hulk, here."Letting the coin decide" could easily backfire; but I really like this one.

Nice work and Happy New Year, Ross!

  8. Simple is good for the start of the new year.

  9. Uh-oh, Ross! Now, you've done it. You've backed yourself into an eventual sequel. Because, given his motif (his obsession with dualism), you know Two-Face will never settle for just one run-in with the Hulk. There's going to have be a second one! Maybe with the two of them even having to double-team...the Bi-beast!!

In any case? Happy New Year! :-)

  10. I just had an idea!

How about Detective Chimp vs Hit-Monkey?

It'd be more fun than.....well, you know!

Hulk can make a great indoor antenna as he is. Two face must feel he can reach Banners
    mind. What an ego.
Happy NewYear for those that still enjoy them.

  12. @Horsefeathers: could Two-Face be trying to tune in a replay of one of Terry Hogan's old wrestling matches?

  13. Seriously, though; I wonder if this part of the mystical evil Shaman was talking about during the 3-part crossover between Alpha Flight and the NTT? I mean; think about it. Who would Isaac Christians seek out first in an effort to thwart Nightmare's latest plot? The Defenders, of course!

But, the Hulk is already trapped in Dreamland, discourtesy of an apparent alliance between Nightmare and Doc Destiny. So, one is forced to wonder how the rest of the Defenders are being incapacitated?

If I were the Gargoyle, I'd seek out help from Dan Brereton's...The Nocturnals!

  14. And as Terry drives away in his own A-team van, he gets on the cb long enough to say
    "Hulk Out"
