Blade Vs. 4 Famous Co-Stars

You have to feel bad for Mahershala Ali.  He was announced as the MCU Blade to much fanfare back in 2019... and his movie is still in development hell.  First it was plagued by script rewrites and they have completely started over at least once.  As soon as the production seemed to have found its footing, Hollywood was hit by actors' and writers' strikes, still unresolved.  There is still no sign of a Blade movie on the schedule even looking a few years down the road. Maybe the role is cursed and not just the character?

  1. every so often, you really have to feel for actors. "Simple job"?? Sure-eeee. Feast or famine?? Maybe a fundraiser to help??

  2. this brings up a different point. Villians like Doomsday go against heroes. Have the villians go against the dangerous villians. Doomsday vs Rogue, Amazo, Parasite or Mimic. Those that can disrupt the antagonist to no end. Who do you root for then, Pammy?

  3. @ Detective Tobor; Nice match, no doubt BUT the bad guys mostly get flattened mainly for their lack of teamwork. Rogue has been shown to have limits when it comes to absorbing power. Mimic only has the first five X-Men's powers, not enough to take down DD though Professor X's powers would slow him down. The Parasite looks like he might make an impact it would only be temporary since DD's spikes would finish him. That leaves Amazo who would be the last one standing though he would take serious damage before finishing DD. The best scenario would be Rogue and Parasite both draining DD's power while Mimic uses his mental power to lull into a complacent state leaving Amazo to use Green Lantern's ring to create a Kryptonite guillotine to finish DD. Of course I lean to the villains here because they can be reasoned with (to some extent) in case of dire emergency whereas Doomsday is just a rampaging monster.

  4. ok we have had a Blade Movie , a Casper Movie, have we had a Wendy or Hot stuff ones or just cartoons. ?
i doubt that Blade could defeat Hot Stuff unless he’s helped by Daimon Hellstrom…

  5. These four seem a bit outside Blade's usual wheelhouse. Isn't he mainly a vampire hunter? I think he'd be more likely to go after Count Chocula or someone like that.

I do hope the Blade movie gets itself together in time for a Phase Six film; that may also be the next natural place for the Black Knight to appear. So far, Mahershala's had only a voiceover cameo in the final three seconds of The Eternals, which makes his casting rather anticlimactic.

I have similar hopes for Armor Wars, though of course Rhodey has been kept active in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Secret Invasion.

  6. This sounds like a Comic Vine match-up I ultimately had to delete for lack of response.

"A-baby Blade vs. the Avengers of Earth-41119. Who will win?"

May that not be as true for you, Ross. :-)

  7. P.S. @ Simon: maybe Blade is being mind-controlled by the Puppet Master on behalf of the Blood-Red Moon.

  8. I mean, think about it! Blade's appeared here a dozen times, already. But, Andrew Bennett; only three. Isn't it about time that his erstwhile lover-turned-arch-enemy, Mary Seward (self-proclaimed "Queen of the Blood-Red Moon") made an appearance, as well?

    Just thinking, out loud.

  10. @simon There was a live-action Casper and Wendy movie once, in the late nineties. Wendy was played by a very young Hillary Duff.
