I got a kick out of the characterization of Kitty Pryde during her first few years in Uncanny X-Men. I liked how she could not settle on a costume or a code name for a while, trying out different things. I think that's how I would be as a kid that got invited to join a super group.
"Passing through the 30th century." "The next phase of your heroic career." :D
ReplyDeleteWhat Alaric said. LOL!
ReplyDeleteP.S. @ Ross: if you re-did STF #4085 as a movie theater poster, would you use images of Henry Cavill, Mehcad Brooks, and Brie Larson?
ReplyDeleteNo
ReplyDeleteThat's the difference between you and me, Ross. At Kitty's (young) age, I'd think about what I'd want to still be called in 15 years, and what kind of costume would reflect that name.
ReplyDeleteOn another topic, I think these two should form their own team; if nothing else, bring in Dark Horse's Ghost to make it a trio of women who walk through walls.
And I, too, noted and appreciated the puns Alaric pointed out.
Why would Brie Larsen play a man? I mean, really...
ReplyDeleteOn an unrelated note, a funny idea has been rolling around in my mind for a while... Plastic Man and the Peanuts gang!
@Anon1010: I could ask the same thing re: Mehcad Brooks playing a freckle-faced ginger-haired shutterbug for six seasons?
ReplyDelete;-)
DC seems to have had it done to them again...no care about their movie by the new reps in charge. Just glad they aren't touching the Legion.
ReplyDeleteKitty thru the ages...What a way to make a rep for yourself... working with the LoSH, inspired.
Ah, Greg LaRocque; best LSH artist since Cockrum and Grell. ^_^
ReplyDeleteWhat's Kitty doing in the Legion's era, anyway? Does this have something to do with the Kang vs. Time Trapper clash from issue 3253?
Wonderful work as usual. Just had an idea. Have you ever done “Egg Fu” and “MODOK”? That would be a heckuva book!
ReplyDeleteThis is one of the best team-up covers you've done. Great idea!
ReplyDeleteI second Michael Taylor's motion.
ReplyDelete@KC: most likely.
ReplyDelete@Bob Greenwade: in that event, would they call themselves "Phase Three"?
ReplyDelete@Anon@10:10: I'll second Plas and the Peanuts gang, or at least Snoopy.
ReplyDelete@Anon@8:50: I like that!

How about Snoopy and Underdog... perhaps even against the Beagle Brothers?
@simreeve: that depends Would Snoopy and Underdog be rescuing Supergoof from Ma Beagle's over-amorous clutches?

Unfortunately I don't know enough about that family to answer you with certainty, but if you think that would be compatible with their canonical behaviour then why not...
Yet another inspired cover, Ross..!
ReplyDeleteI don't know how you have been able to keep it up for so long... It seems to me like you are never short of great ideas..
Actually, I like Michael Taylor 's idea, too, but it will likely be tough to find suitable images...
@Simreeve: it could be debuted as a character motivation. After all; it worked for Blue Bolt and the Green Sorceress during the Golden Age of Fox Features. And it obviously still works for Batman and Catwoman!
ReplyDeleteIn the immortal words of Stan Lee: "Nuff said."
ReplyDeleteCover of the month!
