Shang-Chi and Plastic Man

I enjoyed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, so when I saw that director  Destin Daniel Cretton was involved with American Born Chinese, another comic-based property on Disney+, I decided to check it out.  I'm halfway through the series and I am really enjoying it.  It has an interesting story, engaging characters, and fun supporting roles by recent Oscar winners Michelle Yeoh and Key Huy Quan.

This is another cover in which I had a bit of de-cluttering to do before I added in any new elements.  Here a look at the behind the scenes process:

  1. It's too bad you couldn't keep the blonde femme fatale! She bears a strong resemblance to Juliette; one of the recurring supporting characters from the canonical "Master of Kung Fu". If so, I would strongly suspect that the Shang-Chi impostor had been killed by Shen Kuei alias The Cat.

But, you obviously had spatial limits. So, based on the fact that the impostor was strangled with tiger-striped nunchuks, I will deduce that the killer was...Tigerman of Atlas/Seaboard!

  2. This would be the first comic I’d grab of the spinner rack at 7-11! You should have these guys become a team and cross plus with Moon Knight and Enlongated Man.

  3. I've been planning on getting into American Born Chinese as my next binge show after Fairy Tail. Just having Michelle Yeoh would be enough to attract my attention, and Ke Huy Quan would be a treat as well; your positive words are encouraging.

@Unknown: If MK/EM is to encounter another pair, I'd like it to be Batman and Mister Fantastic (their counterparts in each other's universes of origin).

  4. Crazy idea: what if the victim is the REAL Shang-Chi; and the "Shang-Chi" who hired Plas is a Skrull?

All in all, nice work, Ross

  6. With the use of Plas as a full investigator, S-C must have something in mind.

Ross, i know you have Code Red for the red haired people, but do you have something for all the red clad workers...The Scarlet League?
Flah, Shang-Chi, Plas, E-Man(?), and so on... Episode of Fringe said it..on Other Earth.... Instead of Green Lantern, it's Red Lantern & Red Arrow because they are dressed same as fire fighters...going into danger.

  7. How about Code Red-and-Black featuring Elongated Man and Deadpool?
