To my surprise it seems that there is yet a third live action film incarnation of Hellboy in the works. At first, I thought it was just speculation, but casting announcements have already been made.
Hellboy: The Crooked Man will be co-written by Mike Mignola and star Jack Kesy in the title role. It will be interesting to see how this attempt fares in comparison to the other two.
Shouldn't that read "third live action sequel"? Seeing as how HTCM would technically be a _fourth_ film.
ReplyDeleteNo it shouldn't. Perlman Incarnation, Harbour Incarnation and now Kesy incarnation.
ReplyDeleteAhhh! You count the first two films as one generation. Got it!

Lol! For a second, I thought Jack was teaming up with two of Earth-Harvey's Avengers.
ReplyDeleteThis is a fascinating, highly disparate trio! What inspired bringing these three together?
ReplyDeleteI started out with Samurai Jack/Hellboy which turned into Young Hellboy. Then there was empty space on the right side of the cover so I decided to add a third explorer.
ReplyDeleteSamurai Jack and Casper alone is worth the price. A live human scarier than Casper.
ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to a live human being scarier than Casper, I think Uncle Sam of the Freedom Fighters put it best (way back in JLA v.1/#107): "Nobody is spookier than that Batman feller."
ReplyDelete@Anon839: Well said. :-)
ReplyDeleteAnon@8:39 has a good point. How about teaming Batman with the Midnight Sons for Halloween?
ReplyDeleteOr, failing that, Daniel Brereton's Nocturnals vs. Lord Pumpkin.
