Green Lantern and Captain America in "With Liberty and Justice for Oa!"

So the GLC show bring prepared for HBO Max and featuring Alan Scott and Guy Gardner is being scrapped in favor of a John Stewart-centric series.  OK, we'll see if that one actually gets off the ground.  In the meantime, what of Hal Jordan?  Will he appear on the big screen again?  Was the Ryan Reynolds movie so reviled that the character has lost his shot at live action for good?

Cap and Hal Jordan battled Arnim Zola and Sinestro in STF #2862.   Cap met the Alan Scott GL in STF #372 and then again in STF #719...

  1. Whoa! That's a cover!
I would love to see Hal Jordan back in action. John Stewart is a great character. So is Kyle Raynor and Alan Scott. I think Hal is just more popular all the way around because he was front and center for so long.

Still, however, it should be interesting to see how these growing pains that DCU/Warner Brothers are going through affects all their live action plans...

  2. I'm probably one of the few people who thought Ryan Reynolds was far better as GL Hal Jordan than Deadpool. So I, personally, would've preferred him doing a GREEN LANTERN 2 rather than DEADPOOL 2!

As for the rather startling scenario depicted here? Someone's been replaced by a Space Phantom, methinks! And his initials are H.J.

  3. if Cap had a ring too, it could be will power vs will power. Since he has already been enhanced, it might be interesting to see what Steve could do then.

  4. Either Hal, John, or Kyle would be fine as the lead in a GL show. And, as I've said before, I'm one of the few who actually liked the Ryan Reynolds GL movie, despite the slow pacing. But as Dave said, DC/WB is still going through growing pains, and is only just starting to get past being an insensitive adolescent.

  5. Where's gunslinging Simon Baz when you need him? ;-)

  6. I'd rather see Green Lantern take on the Purple Claw.

  7. Impressive.
Ross, those chains look like they would have taken a lot of time to draw. Did you adapt this from a picture of Cap chained more conventionally, or were they all your own work?

And I agree with Detective Tobor that it would be interesting to see what Cap himself could do with a GL ring. (Although maybe a Blue Lantern ring would fit him even better?)
