Presenting the conclusion to our week-long tale. It looks like Tigra and Cat-Man have finally gotten out from under The Ringmaster's control - but there's still no love lost between them. Even kibitzing from all of our previous guest stars will not be enough to bring about a reconciliation. I hope you enjoyed this multi-part tale, I have some ideas for more that may appear on the blog in the future.
Heard years later, he finally gave up crime and went into advertising. "Break me off a piece of that Kit, Cat Man!"

ReplyDeleteTo be honest, I'm kind of wistful this is coming to an end. Especially as both halves of this odd couple will be doing their darnedest to use up the rest of each other's nine lives. Of course, this being the Ross-verse, some technicality will be found to expand that feline "age limit," indefinitely, I'm sure! As for your next seven-parter how about... Snagglepuss and the Pink Panther!
ReplyDeleteAnd that, I am dead certain, the ingenious Mr. Greenwade _did_ suggest! ;-)
@Anonymous: wrong again, dude. That was Reviewer Isaac's brainchild. Way back in STF #1755!
ReplyDeleteBut, in postscript, I agree with everything else you said. :-)
ReplyDeleteI look forward to any multi-part epics you may come up with, Ross. Multi-issue stories are the standard these days anyway, so it just sort of brings this ersatz publication into the 21st century.
ReplyDelete@Daviticus: Agreed.
@Cary: You're correct, at least as far as my suggesting Snagglepuss & the Pink Panther. That's just not an exciting pairing to me (though I'm sure Ross could make it fun, in practice).
On the other hand, putting Snagglepuss on stage with Mr. Magoo would be fun, especially with Blue Devil and Wonder Man in the wings to stop things from going horribly wrong (or, even better, all four of them into a performance forced by Mojo... and possibly even adding Slappy Squirrel for good measure).
Speaking of Mr Magoo, has there been an all blind team?
ReplyDeleteOr could there be?
Mr Magoo, Geordi La Forge, Dr Mid-Nite, Daredevil, Vin Diesel’s Riddick…
Looking back now on the list of guest stars made me realize how I missed the boat on this story arc. I kept looking for a cosmic heavy-hitter to step forward and reveal the Truth about some Cat-Force, or Cat-Multiverse à la Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. This series made me re-appreciate how fantastic characters can operate on a "grounded", street-level fashion, with just the basic tension between them being more than enough to drive the story. Why Kevin Feige hasn't given Ross a corner office, I'll never know.
ReplyDeleteBlind Justice is a team of blind heroes was entry #2295, i believe or something there about....
ReplyDeleteand Blind Justice should be added to the index over there....
ReplyDeleteI'll bet The Catman from KISS would have a word or two to say to this feline felon!
ReplyDeleteBlind Justice is #2290 on the blog....
ReplyDeleteit includes Madam Web, I Ching, Doctor Mid-Night, Geordi La Forge, and Daredevil....
Maybe it's time for Blind Justice to return -- possibly taking on the hapless Doctor Light!
ReplyDelete@Bob Greenwade: I'd prefer the Silent Partners. Nobody's heard from them in over a year!
ReplyDelete#GreatpunHavethewholeCookiejar.
Don't get it. Why aren't the groups listed too? Silent Partners and Blind Justice can have as many fans as any of the individuals.
ReplyDeleteI see both Blind Justice and The Silent Partners on the list. Either Ross just added them at your suggestion, or you're just missing things.
ReplyDelete@Cary: One. One cookie. Just one.
Okay... two.
@Bob: I'll take three...and flee!
