I liked the twist at the end of the Disney+ Hawkeye series (Minor SPOILER follows)...
...that Clint Barton's wife actually worked for S.H.I.E.L.D. as Mockingbird at some point in the past. Of course, now I want to see Linda Cardinelli as Bobbi Morse in some flashback scenes. I don't know if Hawkeye is coming back for another season, but hopefully Marvel can find some way to show her in her super-heroic action days.
Excellent rendering, Ross!
ReplyDeleteThe original art work might've been done by Mr. Knowlan. But, the images blend together as if they'd been drawn by your near-namesake: Alex Ross.
As for the premise? I can't surmise what Mockingbird might be up to (aside from a Secret Six mission). But, I'll bet Catwoman wants to get her hands on a Pym-particle beam. For shrinking-then-kidnapping Batman!*
* "Hi, my name is Cary..."
"Hi, Cary!"
"...and I've been a Microphile for ten years."
I agree with Cary: this rendering is wonderfully done. What stands out to me, though, is how the cover teases at the (sadly nonexistent) story inside.
ReplyDeleteAs for Laura Barton, I happen to be among those that would like to see the events of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. canonized into the MCU, and that includes Adrienne Palicki as Bobbi Morse. Someone on Twitter pointed out how no feature pointing to either the two characters as Mockingbird are shared between Bobbi and Laura, and someone else responded about how they could be sisters -- and Adrienne and Linda look enough alike to support that. I also have heard nothing about the possibility of a Season 2 for Hawkeye but I think it'd be fantastic to see both ladies go into action.
Loved linda as a nurse in ER
ReplyDeleteAs said in Bond, Anyone can have the 007 designation! Birds of Prey, Black Canary, Mockinbird, Robin, Nightwing, Nighthawk, Hawkman, and Hawkwoman. Many have tried but only a few have been successful.
ReplyDeleteLook how many have been Catwoman.
As far as their individual goals, seen a whole bunch of stories with the "price to be announced later" line. The possibilities (might even change for Cat).
Cover is just below the live photo version. Very nice.
I loved Bobbie in Agents of Shield.
ReplyDeleteJust how dangerous is the Mocker's task? She's in good standing with the group ain't she? Would they say NO to Widow or Cap?
ReplyDeleteFar as the cover, shouldn't Ms M. have been a bit less bright for her setting? Other than that, a true Kodak moment.
H3? You're an inspirational genius!
ReplyDelete@Ross: How about a clash between Bobbi Morse and Mocker from the role-playing game "Crushers vs. Crusaders?"
You know, given the similarity of their costume color schemes, I've often wondered why Mockingbird has never imitated the Black Cat in any of her undercover missions for SHIELD? A little platinum-blonde hair dye or identically colored wig and...voila!
