Marc Tyler Nobleman, comics historian and Patron of this Blog, suggested I make an All-New A-Team cover featuring heroes with an "A" Symbol. I hope he doesn't mind that I gave this new group a name of their own - I didn't want to incur the wrath of B.A. Baracus! Thanks, Marc!
Awesome cover! Awesome is my favorite word... and ironically it begins with "A" - HA!
ReplyDeleteWhere did you get that image of Captain Avenger?! Hero at Large is such a great movie!
Great team - great cover!
Kudos to you and Marc Tyler Nobleman!
It's from an illustration by Thomas Perkins, found on a Google search.
ReplyDeleteBut….but…but…Atom Ant. :-(
ReplyDeleteHe's right in front of Captain America's shield!
ReplyDelete"A" for effort.
ReplyDeleteWhat does B.A. Baracus have to complain about? If you're going alphabetically, he'll no doubt be at the top of the B-list!
ReplyDeleteThat's better than being on the T-list. ;-)
Aw, I had been hoping Captain Avenger would be on with the Crimson Avenger and the Toxic Avenger! Oh, well... this cover still gets an "A" from me. And no fool-pitying involved.
ReplyDeleteNow I'm wondering if there are any other letters that this can be done with.
And I just noticed that #3500 is on its way in a week and a half. I'm wondering what's in store for us....
#3500 will feature Two teams that have never appeared together on the blog with 5 interlocking stories all illustrated by a comics legend.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping it will be FemForce and Justice Machine! :-)
ReplyDeleteMy B-choice? The League of Champions and Malibu Comics' Protectors.
All of their arch-enemies are thinking "What a bunch of A-Holes!"
ReplyDeleteFollowup team: Any of the A-Listers teaming up with E-Man, Mister Incredible, Omni-Man and Ultraman -- The Vowels!
@Big Mike: It'd be great if there could also be a certain part-time member, though I can't think of a good one.
ReplyDelete@Bob Greenwade: WHY?!
ReplyDeleteI was going to ask about Silver Age Aquaman but looking back I guess that wasn't really an "A" on his belt buckle, though I always thought it was supposed to be one.
ReplyDelete@Bob Greenwade: i think your idea for the part-time member to this team should be filled by Charlie America from "Not Brand Echh" because you know he uses a lower case "a" on his uniform....
ReplyDelete@BigMike: Y indeed!
ReplyDelete@jack-el: see BigMike's response, and my answer to same.
It's nice to see Capt. America wearing 3-D wings on his cowl, again, rather than painted-on versions of same.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely an A+ depiction!
Would Apocalypse be a sometimes member of this group or an A-listed villain?
ReplyDeleteAye! A really classy cover but what happened to Aquaman? With all the others like them like Daredevil, Robin, Superman, Thor, and X-Men does that mean you might make a group called The Lettermen? (or Letters From Home?)
ReplyDelete@Horsefeathers: I "cherish" your first suggestion.
ReplyDelete...or perhaps the part-time partners should be the Robonic Stooges who have the letters "M","L" and "C" on their uniforms....
ReplyDeleteshucks....
ReplyDeletei was looking forward to seeing BeeMan from the FBeeI here today to keep your lettermen theme going....
oh well....
Hester Prynne (from Hawthorne's "The Scarlet Letter") would fit right in here.
ReplyDeleteThat tease for #3500 sounds fantastic! Can't wait!
ReplyDelete@Anonymous: I'd rather see Mystery, Inc. and Cain & Abel visit "The House of Seven Dwarfs."
