Black Goliath and Elasti-Girl

I am glad to use a Black Goliath image here that was penciled by Sal Buscema and Inked by Jim Mooney.  Sal Buscema was the undisputed master of illustrating characters delivering or receiving a powerful punch, and Jim Mooney drew some of the prettiest girls in comics.  I was lucky enough to pick up original pieces by both of them several years back:

Don't let the Larry Lieber signature fool you.  The back of this strip indicates that it was penciled by Sal Buscema and inked by the legendary Joe Sinnott:

Supergirl looks vulnerable like that. Wonder if the Danver sisters' cats get along.
I know Rita is strong when she's a giant, but stopping a plane in mid-air? And Air Force One at that? She's gonna get a "Bill" for this mess.

  2. How many grow-to-giant-size characters are there? Besides these two, Marvel has Giant-Man and Stature, while DC has Colossal Boy and Apache Chief. I think such characters would be a good choice to feature in a future "Giant-Size Special" (get it?). Villains could include Galactus, Starro, Ego the Living Planet, and maybe the Death Star.

  3. @Bob Greenwade: Garganta of FemForce fame should be included in such a special, as well.

@Ross: yes, there would be quite a mess left behind as a result of this mistaken identity slugfest. But, I think the bill should go to its most likely instigators. General Immortus and Madame Viper!

  4. In the Big League don't forget Jimmy (Colossal Boy) Olsen, or the Legion original either.

  5. There was a superhero called the Green Giant, but he only had one appearance in 1940.

  6. @ Carycomic: with all due respect? I think you're only half-right. I think this battle was instigated by Immortus, Lord of Limbo, and his arch-rival...The Time Trapper!

Why? To prevent the acquisition of cosmic super-powers by POTUS James Norcross!!

  7. @ Anonymous1041: I had a "Freleng" you'd say that. ;-)

  9. @Cary: And let's not forget Ginormica, from "Monsters vs. Aliens"!

You could try to squeeze in Elasti-Girl vs Giganta for a special women's cover.

  11. Oh, and how could I forget Mt. Lady from "My Hero Academia"?

One could make a team of just Elasti-Girl, Stature, Garganta, Ginormica, and Mt. Lady. Fezzik would have some very nice dreams about them.

  12. And Mongo (from "Blazing Saddles") would probably become their masochistic pawn in the Game of Life.

  13. Oh! The above all-giantess team could be called "Fezzik's Angels!" Or, it could be the title of the story, anyway. Either way, the man himself wouldn't have to appear on the cover.

(Also, Lady Diane from The Seven Deadly Sins could be added to the group.)

  14. The 7 Deadly Sins as dramatized in the anime "Full Metal Alchemist?"

  15. @Anon and Bob: that'd be my first guess.

  16. @Anon: No, the 7 Deadly Sins and dramatized in the anime The 7 Deadly Sins (currently on Netflix).

  17. Typo correction: make that as dramatized.

  18. Netflix is getting increasingly overrated, methinks.
