Batman and Brother Voodoo in: "The Zombies of Blackgate!"

So many rumors are swirling around the production on The Batman.  Robert Pattinson refused to get in shape and is hated by Director Matt Reeves?  Pattinson and Zoe Kravitz hooking up in real life and getting intimate on the Batmobile?  Warner Bros execs feel the movie is far too dark and are demanding reshoots?  Frankly most of this doesn't pass the smell test for me.  Since most of the rumors I hear are from anonymous sources, I'm guessing fans who don't want Ben Affleck replaced in the role are trying to sow discord.  Everything official that I have seen so far has looked pretty good to me.

Batman and Brother Voodoo first met in one of my earliest entries, an MS Paint cover from 2010...

  1. I think I vaguely remember the real comic this cover came from. During the 1970's, Marvel was still using the Lovecraftian term "zuvembies" in their color-illustrated horror mags because use of the actual term, "zombie," was prohibited by the Comics Code Authority!

  2. Yes, there were two Marvel-Two-In-Ones where the Thing first teamed with the Black Panther and then Brother Voodoo. Zuvembies were involved, as was former Ugandan dictator Idi Amin.

  3. Plus, at least one issue of TOMB OF DRACULA that guest-starred Brother Voodoo. Battling "zuvembies" alongside Frank Drake (Dracula's good guy descendant).

  4. And in both covers you used the same artists for each hero! Nicely done!

  5. Reg: Yes I just noticed that as well. A not planned, but a happy accident!

Cut their legs down to their nerves and they won't be able to walk.
Batman always carries something for super strong foes.
Perhaps Voodoo can again partner with The Demon soon. You could call it: 'Brother, can you spare a rhyme?'

  7. Hugo has a couple of nephews who probably would step in if they (or at least one of them) weren't busy in a galaxy far, far away.

PS: It's great that things are opening up, and since that includes conventions, I'm headed off to one next weekend. Next Friday I'll be dressed as Doctor Mid-Nite (the McNider version, with the split-front tunic), and it would be super-cool if he were featured here on the same day -- ideally, reunited with either Daredevil or Dr. Strange.

  8. PS: Apparently some people haven't gotten the message that Robert Pattinson's Batman and Ben Affleck's Batman do not exist in the same universe. Ben's been reinstated as the Bat for the upcoming The Flash film, and even if he'd been replaced it wouldn't have been Robert doing it.

  12. Oh! #3456 coming up? Hopefully Count Von Count will be present, if only as an "Easter egg" background character.

  13. Heh! When I was an elementary school kid, I thought that Transylvanian Muppet's name was "Count Ing."

  17. Btw: I apologize for the bad math of my namesake @ 6/7/21 (4:50PM).

He meant to say "...circa ten MONTHS till STF #3456."

  19. Split the difference, you guys!

The math, as of last Friday, works out to one hundred days (= 3 months/1 week/3 days). As of today, it's 44 days to issue #3400 (circa July 31). Which places the "publication" of #3456 somewhere around mid-September.

    Sheesh!

  20. @Cary, I think that was a misdirection of sorts. The original post had
"Anonymous said... Only 10 days to issue 3456! June 12, 2021 at 4:50 AM"
but Anonymous #2 had "Anonymous said...
Btw: I apologize for the bad math of my namesake @ 6/7/21 (4:50PM)."

    6/7/21 doesn't quite match up to 6/12/21 (June 12, 2021 ).
As Horsefeathers said, a booboo for booboo.
