It's been announced that Tim Roth will reprise his role as The Abomination at some point in the upcoming She-Hulk series, which will be cool to see. Still, I would love to see Tim Blake Nelson show up as Samuel Sterns - I mean his head was already pulsing after his accident in The Incredible Hulk, and that was 13 years ago! He has to have transformed into The Leader by now! It's not like Marvel Studios to leave such a big plot thread dangling for so long.
Pity you couldn't use Brainy's green hue. Green on green on green. Kara's most noticed color.
ReplyDeleteIf Banner got a STD,would Hulk neutralize it or make it Gammafied?
Great team up. Not the heroes, the villains. Wonder where "The Leader" falls on the intellect scale.
ReplyDeleteRats! I was hoping it would be Brainiac in his Silver Age/Legion of Doom form. That way, Ross could have rhetorically asked us; "Why Is Supergirl...SEEING GREEN?"
ReplyDeleteMy first reaction on seeing this otherwise great cover was - why not the Great Green Brainiac? Then I find that Cary and Horsefeathers were there before me.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of the retro fitted "improved" Brainiac, especially as he seems (am I wrong?) lifted from the Terminator.
I, too, would've preferred the green-hued, pseudo-Coluan Silver Age Brainiac, but for me that doesn't detract as much from the cover. I see from the poses, in fact, that Brainiac is about experience an unexpected beat-down!
ReplyDeleteAs for the Leader showing up, I too would like to see that. It should be easy to explain his absence over the past decade and a half; he's simply been playing the long game, carefully building his power base, since the longer the world is unaware of his manipulations the longer he can operate without interference. I think the crew (whether CGI or Makeup) will have to make his head cranium about half as high as what's shown here, though; this height already looks pretty silly in comics form, and would only look ridiculous in live action.
I figure the heroes would prevail because one or both of the villains would try to double-cross the other one. No honor among thieves and all that.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, why is Classic Bruce Banner always wearing purple pants when he turns into Classic Green Hulk?
ReplyDeleteI already know what keeps him from losing his pants when he Hulks out--the ineffable mystical power of the Comics Code Authority. ;)
Bruce invented pants that could stay glued to his legs so he could always have much needed pockets.
ReplyDeleteThe leader looks like he should have a baton and an orchestra.
Strike up the band, Ross.
My favorite Supergirl outfit...totally out of nostalgia because that's the costume I was introduced to her with thanks to the TRS-80 Computer Whiz Kids comics DC made before Archie took over and the TRS-80 was replaced by Tandy.
ReplyDeleteI was not intending on that long a sentence.
@Det. Tobor: "The Leader of The Band?" Cue Dan Fogelberg!
ReplyDeleteIt's the Music, man. Who needs sounds of silence?
ReplyDeleteWhy, the Silent Partners, of course!
ReplyDelete;-D
Hey! That's an idea for #3333: "Code Red vs. The Silent Partners in...WHAT IS THE SOUND OF GINGER SNAPPING?"
ReplyDeleteEnough with the freaking ginger snap jokes!
ReplyDeleteyou tell them, Maryann. Enough with the Ginger jokes.
ReplyDelete@Cary: Except that Code Red and the Silent Partners are both hero groups. Maybe Bane vs. Black Widow could give us a ginger snap.
ReplyDelete@Bob Greenwaded: superhero groups have been turned against each other before, via some mind-controlling villain. The Puppet Maaster; Psycho-Pirate, etc.
ReplyDeleteCase in point: I was mind-controlled into misspelling "Puppet Master!"
ReplyDelete@Sum Likeitnot : listen to Ginger rail!
ReplyDeletebarkeep, give me a ginger ale. I'm old enough now.
ReplyDeleteThis would be a great crossover.Linda Danvers meets Bruce Banner and falls in love. The ultimate power couple. When something causes him to change she's there to minimize the damage and mellow him out.
ReplyDeleteI thought Lucas and Karen Cage were the ultimate power couple here in the Ross-verse?
