This could be a fun battle to see. Both are very powerful villains that nevertheless are always seeking more sources of strength, and both are 100% convinced of their moral superiority over their opponents. It would be quite the clash of power and ego!
Always happy to include the artwork of Gilk Kane. He's my favorite Marvel cover artist ever. I could never afford an original of one of his covers, but I did manage to purchase a sketch by him many years back:
This would be an enjoyable clash of titan, indeed! :-)
ReplyDeleteI've only one question, though, Ross. Where did Doc Doom pick up a lightsaber?
Looks more like a power sword left behind by one of the Knights of Wundagore (when they took off for space with the High Evolutionary).
ReplyDeleteThis would be a great clash! And that dialogue is pure Doom!
ReplyDeleteAnon's probably right, but it might be interesting to see him picking up a red lightsaber and becoming Darth Doom.
ReplyDeleteOn a (vaguely) related note, it's interesting that Parallax and Dark Phoenix have never crossed paths. They have such interestingly parallel story arcs that it seems only natural.
And on a totally unrelated note, I've recently discovered and (somewhat to my surprise) begun enjoying Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir on Netflix. This computer-animated show relies heavily on anime stylings and story tropes, though it takes place in Paris and includes some French story tropes as well.* It might be interesting to see that pair on this blog someday, perhaps with Voltron, the Transformers, or the crew of Star Wars: Rebels (or The Bad Batch).
*This is largely because France and Japan are two of the countries represented by its international production efforts, the other two being Italy and South Korea. The production languages are French, English, Korean, and Japanese.
Ross, have you thought of doing a Super-Villain Team-Up month?
ReplyDeleteMaybe not a month at once, but there will be more super villain team ups and battles.
ReplyDeleteMaybe an all-villain multi-parter some time this summer? The idea has some appeal.
ReplyDeleteOr, better yet, Suicide Squad vs. the Masters of Evil!
ReplyDeleteAnother title you could use could have been... Will he or won't he?
ReplyDelete@Det. Tobor: Only their hairdressers know for sure.
