Power Girl and Power Man in: "The Anti-Affection Algorithm!"

Sweet Christmas indeed! It will be a mellow one for me this year, with the office Christmas party cancelled and no big family gathering for the first time ever in my life.  I will see at least one brother and maybe have a fleeting outdoor visit with my Mom, so I won't be completely alone.  I am glad I gave myself a year's subscription to HBO Max as a present, so I'll spend tomorrow with Wonder Woman even if Santa Claus isn't coming!

This Marks The 10th appearance of The Power Couple on this blog.

  1. Most everyone's had to curtail their usual big plans for Xmas, this year. Everyone with _good_ sense, anyway!

As for today's cover? The Power Couple must really be committed to their relationship. PG's costume finally lives up to her initials! No more--ahem--Window of Opportunity.

Re: the mysterious mastermind behind this plot to break them up? I'll hazard a guess that it's an alliance of convenience. Boss Morgan of Harlem...and Ugly Mannheim of Intergang.

  2. P.S. @ the Security Chief: how come I got to prove I'm not a robot, and Tall-Metallic-and-Ugly doesn't?

  3. My guess as to the perpetrator here is based on the story title; I think it's one of Darkseid's chief lackeys. If I had to guess which one, I'd hazard Desaad, but I'm sure someone else can come up with a better candidate.

It's nice seeing the Power Couple again, though.

For me, Christmas alone has become the rule rather than the exception, but being on the spectrum helps in dealing with that. I've been keeping my neurotypical friends in prayer, though, as they have to deal with that. I do understand at least a little about how lonely that must feel.

@Cary: This is clearly an early drawing of Power Girl, before the decolletage had developed (pun intended). She's one of those rare cases where I prefer it, though; it's simply become too much a part of the character. (The only other one I can think of is Phantom Girl's '70s costume, though my reasons there are somewhat more complex.)

  4. Nice cover, as usual...I, too, can't wait to watch Wonder Woman tomorrow, though, being where theatres are still open (Saskatoon SK Canada) my wife and I are actually going to see it on the big screen. Then my daughter and I are going the next day (well SOMEONE has to stay home with the granddaughter!)

Best wishes of the season to you! Love your work!

  5. Thanks, Nathan! I may make it a double bill and watch Pixar's Soul on Disney+ afterwards!

  6. Ross, a favorite reoccurring couple. Great use of the Wally Wood PG.

Glad you're able to see some family, even if not the whole family, and enjoy Patty and Gal's latest. As dark as this year has been, there is still so much to be thankful for (especially for us comic book nerds).

All the best for the holiday.

  7. Will you have a cover soon, if not tomorrow, featuring a gang of famous "Bad Santa"'s, like the one shilling an expensive, violent video game on "Marge Be Not Proud" (The Simpsons), the one on "Minstrel Krampus" (American Dad), etc.?

Looks like an foe of Doom Patrol has some input on these.

If your entire family have PC's then you can still make a conference call with everyone together. Practice early with any who might need it. Tech works.

Did PG only wear red, white and blue? If she wanted to use sex to distract why not use black or very dark blue?

I can't wait for Jessica to come along and get preggers then have Karen scream at Luke, "What? I wasn't enough WOMAN for you?"

  10. @Bob, Ross, and Delete Ed: That's who controlling the Murder-Bot! Jealous Jessica Jones!! No doubt mind-controlled by Glorious Godfrey (Darkseid's best-looking lieutenant).

Tomorrow you could have Wonder Woman & Cap watching Gal on the big screen or at someone's apartment.
The suggestion to video con on the computer might work. Start the process early and reduce the problems. Xmas Wish.
