The Herculoids meet The Silver Surfer

Here's another crossover that I thought should have happened when I was a kid because the Silver Surfer appeared on some Fantastic Four episodes as part of Hanna-Barbera's World of Super Adventure.  Since The Herculoids were also a part of that anthology cartoon show, I saw no reasons why Galactus most famous herald wouldn't visit Amzot.

  1. I remember that anthology, too!

It was syndicated around the mid-1970's via Metromedia Network stations like Old Channel 5 (WNEW) in New York City. Ironically, though, these two Hanna-Barbera classics had first been on rival networks, CBS and ABC, as Saturday AM cartoons during Funtastic 1967.

I can see it, now. Ben Grimm, trying to give Ego a black eye while yelling (in the voice of the late, great Paul Frees) "It's clobberin' time!"

Thanks for the nostalgia, Ross. :-)

  2. Oh Ross, that is SO COOL!!! I would dare to hope to see a follow up, of Uglor and Galactus against the Surfer and Space Ghost. Yeah, Uglor was only from Space Stars, not the original cartoons - but he was such a universal villain, in that he fought Space Ghost and the Herculoids, as well as the Teen Force.

    This is just slick, dude!

And the postscript... H-B did Fantastic Four in 1967 and the SuperFriends in 1972. So by simple addition... :)

  6. and for something a little of the same:

The network has put in development The Powerpuff Girls, a live-action series based on the original Cartoon Network animated series created by Craig McCracken. The project, featuring adult versions of the three kindergarten-aged girls from the classic animated series, hails from Diablo Cody (Juno, United States of Tara), Heather Regnier (Veronica Mars), Warner Bros. TV and studio-based Berlanti Productions.

Just wait till they get to planet Ego and Amzot.

  7. @ELS: Maybe Space Ace (Astro and the Space Mutts) could meet the Jetsons (Astro's previous(?) owners); he was drawn Alex Toth style, unlike the Jetsons.

  8. Or, failing that, Metamorpho and Dr. Doom vs. "The Elements of Doom!"
