Josh Brolin's Thanos was very cool, but he still isn't my favorite MCU villain. That title goes to Cate Blanchett as Hela. She was so much fun to watch and Blanchett chewed the scenery in all the right ways. Her various looks throughout Thor: Ragnarok were all spot on, very faithful to the source material and quite impressive on the big screen. I wouldn't mind seeing Hela make a return appearance.
And she would be great against MISTER Miracle.

ReplyDeleteAlthough, it would also be interesting to see her against half your powers squad of Amazo, Super Adaptoid, Mimic and Parasite. If any of them could properly absorb her powers level, that would really be a story.
Say kids. What time is it? Time for Kang, Time Trapper and Chronos (The New Time Masters) to go up against Rip Hunter in The Time of His Life.
ReplyDeleteI meant to comment about yesterday and got busy. I am making two comments today.
ReplyDeleteFirst, I like this pairing today. It's one of those that I look at and wonder why I never thought of it myself. I remember when these two were introduced. Looking back, I would bet that they would have paired had they been part of the same publication. Even further, I could see Daz with Batman and the Outsiders had she been with DC. For reasons I cannot put my finger on, I could see Halo as a Defender had she been with Marvel.
Second, regarding yesterday's cover, I note your acknowledgment of other Joneses that you theoretically could have included. I note your saying that not all with the name of Jones are related. It reminded me of a song from about 25-30 years ago called Two Sets of Joneses. That might be an idea later on for you. If you made a team out of some or all of those others referenced in your comment, then you would have two sets yourself. Putting them into a story together, you could actually call it Two Sets of Joneses. Now, it's all a matter of who they would be up against.
Once again, Ross, thank you so much for what you do. I look forward everyday to see what you have put together. I tell anyone I met who likes science fiction, fantasy, superheroes, etc. all about your blog. My pastor, who is a Star Wars fan big time, thought it was one of the coolest things he had ever seen.
Thanks, Mickey! Spread that STF love!
ReplyDeleteMickey it just takes a lot of talent and vision to use these characters in ways that would make their owning companies blush with embarrassment.
ReplyDeleteTake today's cover. Hela wants to throw a party for her godly associates and wants these two to sing and do a light show at the same time. Great Entertainment.
How about Amazing Man, Absorbing Man, and Kevin 11?
ReplyDeleteAnon 8:36 By George, I think you've got it.
ReplyDeleteWhen you need a skill set that no one has,
ReplyDeleteinstead of THE TOTALITARIANS, some jobs require a bit more finesse...enter The Koppy Katts. (Super Skrull and Composite Superman not in use.)
If Absorbing Man and Parasite hold hands can they form a black hole?
ReplyDeleteHey Tobor, try this:
ReplyDeleteSome jobs require more finesse but when you need a skill set no one has...call for The KoppyKatts.
HHH how about
ReplyDeleteWhen a job requires great finesse and a skill set no one has...call The KoppyKatts!
Looks like Fish done got half his wish. :-)
ReplyDeleteThrow in "Duplicate Boy", from the Legion of Super Heroes stories as well.
ReplyDeleteAnd Mimic from X-Men and Exiles, for those pesky mutant powers.

Hey Mickey, I know what you mean about Daz and Halo! There have been a few DC heroes who look like they belong at Marvel (Firestorm, Cyborg) and a few Marvel ones that look like they belong at DC (Moon Knight, Gargoyl)!!
ReplyDelete"Hey, Mickey! You're so fine. You're so fine, you blow my mind."
ReplyDelete"Hey, Mickey! Hey, Mickey!"
@my namesake @ 855: sorry! Couldn't resist. :-)
