It might be fun to see these heroes work together. The characters have such different personalities and power sets that they would either clash or be able to accomplish through cooperation what they could not on their own. If I know my comic book meetings, it would probably be both!
That would be interesting - Plant Man, Poison Ivy and Floronic Man (Jason Woodrue) making NY their testing grounds. No rooting for them.
ReplyDeleteWith the way things are in the real world, some of them might be given a pardon if they help Australia put out the fire and recover. At least by Australia.
ReplyDeleteNo, Tony! Don't do it!! It's a trap!!!
ReplyDeleteHe's still... "UNDER THRALL TO THANOS!"
This is an interesting pairing -- two heroes whose worlds are so different you'd never expect them to meet, and yet here's the very story that could bring them together. I think it'd take at least three pages for Tony to convince Swampy to help (depending on where the latter character is in his personality arc), and the resulting confrontation at the end... wow. I'd love to be the writer on this tale.
ReplyDelete@Tobor: Actually, I think that would be a job for Storm and Mera. The Liquidator (Darkwing Duck's foe) might help out.
Another Darkwing foe, Bushroot, would be interesting to team up with Poison Ivy for another DW/Batman team-up... or even on their own, since both villains have wandered from eco-terrorist status into antihero territory.
P.S. @ Ross: that's what I'd call the third part of any Swamp Thing trilogy that "began" with STF #2796.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny you mention that, there just may be a Swamp Thing STF trilogy coming up...
ReplyDelete@Bob They would be a big help with the fires, but the charred grounds might have a problem trying to hold rain without also flooding. Repair the ground, reseed then put in nourishment. With that much size destroyed for now, food for animals would also need to be restarted. Somebodies like Storm and Ivy could become world famous for what they could do as a team.
ReplyDeletedet_Tobor sparked an idea for a future multi-parter: What If Dr. Doom kidnapped Ivy to turn her into a mind-controlled growing machine to produce bumper crops of grain and fruits and veggies to feed Latveria and help out in Africa, Australia, etc. (hidden inside some Kirby Tech machine of course) that Doom uses to promote his "remorseful, humanitarian" side. Who (besides Harley and Selina) would rescue her?
ReplyDeleteHank Pym before he went off the track the 2nd time becoming part of Ultron would have been the perfect partner for Swamp Thing. He was a renowned scientist in multiple biology fields including a lot of edge stuff. I am real glad the movies ignore all of the idiotic "Hank wife beater" stuff which started by an artist drawing scene writer did not intend but Marvel just went with it.
ReplyDeleteIron Man takes on the Daleks?
ReplyDeleteI'd settle for Tony Stark meeting Iaco Stark.
