The Defenders Vs. The Fatal Five

This story serves as a prequel to STF #2710.  If you were wondering just how The Fatal Five got stuck in the present, well here you go! I definitely think that this would be a great match-up. With The Five having the edge in numbers and The Defenders the edge in raw power.  It would be close!

  1. Always good to see a new Curt Swan cover featuring some of my favorite bad guys.

  2. Why would the Defenders want to strand the Fatal Five in our century?

I suspect an alliance of convenience between Yandroth and Mordru.

  3. Hulk vs. Validus would be an epic battle!

  4. Not to mention the "Eye of Agamotto vs. the "Eye of Ekron".

  5. Great matchup. Maybe a valkyre addition would even up the numbers. But even the Legion could barely handle them with their numbers.

  6. @Kevin and Emsley: I agree on both counts! In fact, Doctor Strange and the Emerald Empress could be a story all to itself, as an interquel between #2710 and this one (to answer Cary's question) -- call it "Cross Eyed!"

  7. Oh my stars, that's a delightful cover! And the concept is fantastic too. And any reason for Curt Swan is a good enough reason! Yup, Hulk vs Validus, Doctor Strange vs the Empress, Namor vs the Persuader - and the Silver Surfer can easily wipe up Tharok and Mano. The mind boggles...

  8. @Emsey and JKC: And I think only the Silver Surfer could safely go mano-a-mano with Mano!

  9. With LoS having gotten a makeover I wonder if the Fatal Five will get one as well?

Then there is a different kind of Fatal Five: Wonder Woman, Big Barda, Power Girl, Power Princess and Thundra.

  10. Back in the comments for the Sabrina/Scarlet Witch team-up I suggest where (Mellissa Joan Hart's) Sabrina botches a spell (to bring for a sitcom) Judy Jetson but got Phil Diffy (Phil of the Future) instead.

  11. I even have the perfect plot device for bringing them together! Max the Evil Magician mistakes Keely Teslow for Allyson Miller (from the Disney Channel original movie "Now You See It").

  12. Time Rifts could have Enemy Ace make a flyby cameo in the background.

  13. Oooh! Oooh! With Snoopy and his Sopwith Doghouse chasing him!

  14. Please, no!

That'd be like Electro turning out to be Reddy Kilowatt's illegitimate son.
