Marvel Studios hasn't shied away from bringing back characters even after we have seen them perish on screen, either by the use of flashbacks or other means. Maybe there's hope that we will see Kurt Russel's Ego again. I'd love to see The Living Planet face off against Galactus should they ever give the World Devourer a detailed back story.
I LOVE the live action adaptations!
ReplyDelete(After reading the Marvel Star Wars adaptation; I read Star Trek: The Motion Picture - and that was pretty much the direction my comic book collection went in... "But I digress".)
I would love to see Marvel launch a The Incredible Hulk '77 series like DC's Batman and Wonder Woman series - even if it's only a limited series. The newspaper strip was pretty cool.
If Galactus can come from outside this universe, why not other Egos? Now if the Scarlet Witch and Zatanna could team up maybe they could cut Galactus down to size.
ReplyDeleteIt's ironic that Lou could still play the Hulk today thanks to cgi. Maybe a variation of the Hulk, like "grey" or Maestro ?
I vaguely remember "Ego vs. Galactus" being a THOR-y arc during the Seventies. So having Hemsworth and Portman star in a Marvel Film adaptation thereof would definitely have me buying a ticket at the box office!
ReplyDeleteInteresting! How about Ben Cumberbatch as Dr. Strange vs. JEJ/David Prowse as Darth Vader?
ReplyDeleteI may need to rewatch GotG2. I'm not convinced that Ego is all the way dead.
ReplyDeletePS: Have Nicholas Hammond and Adam West shared a photo cover yet?
Yes, in STF #1014.
ReplyDeleteNobody has noticed that Marshall as the President puts this in the Chris Reeve Superman timeline...
ReplyDeleteSnake Plissken? I thought he was dead...
ReplyDeleteCary, how about Dr. Strange vs. Agnes Moorehead as Endora?
ReplyDeleteFor the 25th anniversary of "Mutant League" TV show, maybe the characters could be paired with Itchy & Scratchy; the show has similar enough violence and has game name that are like Itchy & Scratchy cartoon episode titles.
ReplyDeleteRoss ........ You're A number one! ;-)
ReplyDelete@Anon451: only as a silver medalist.
ReplyDelete@Ross: actually, that was the Watcher vs. Charlie Brown.
ReplyDeleteP.S.@Anon451: And, even then, only if it was Peter Hooten playing "Dr. Strange '78."
ReplyDeleteCarycomic, Nope Charlie Brown/Watcher was the next issue #1015
ReplyDeleteAn Incredible Hulk ‘77 series would be interesting though I’m not sure the modern fanbase would react well to a scaled down Hulk. I really miss Bill Bixby’s interpretation of Dr. Banner more than anything though.
ReplyDeleteHmmm! I also thought that read "#1015," the first time round. A little butt-covering ret-con, perhaps? ;-)
ReplyDeleteNow, now, Anon. Let's not pull any Trumpsteins.
ReplyDeleteAnd, on that cryptic note, we now return you to the Semi-facetious Suggestion Department!
ReplyDeleteHow about Snake Plissken vs. Judge Dredd (Sly Stallone version).
