Moon Knight and Martian Manhunter

The "Detroit Era" Justice League gets a bad rap sometimes, but there were some parts to it that I really enjoyed.  I liked that The Elongated Man got a chance to shine and that his wife Sue Dibny became an important ally to the team.. Most of all I was glad to see J'Onn J'Onzz back in action.  I thought that it was crazy to keep such a cool character off the table for so many years, and it was great to see him finally have a home again.  I am still holding out hope the the CW will give us a live action version of the Detroit JLA team, since most of the characters have been introduced on one show or another.

  1. Fun cover. J.J. Really is being developed into a strong character.

There is a crossover request. It's a little different.

Zoo Crew and the Inferior Five both nominating Ant-Man for Membership.

Me, I like Moon Knight. Especially his cabbie secret id. Gives a true meaning to being undercover.
I "nominate" Moon Knight vs Giganta....When the Moon comes over the mountains.

But on a serious note have Zoo Crew meet Flaming Carrot. Don't Play With Your Food.

  3. Yesterday on The Mary Sue, the Japanese media franchise "One Piece" was described as keeping going, just like the Energizer Bunny; maybe you could have a "One Piece"/"The Pirates of Dark Water" crossover on a cover; "The Pirates of Dark Water" is a lot like "One Piece"; if I'm correct, TPODW's closest thing to outer space references is the likes of an island shielded(?) by floating rocks extending "to the heavens" and interdimensional travel (in a cartoon set on another PLANET!).

  4. I can't think of anything to add to what's already been said in admiration of today's cover. So, I'll just add another lagomorphic request. Space Usagi Yojimbo and Jaxxon the Lepi bounty hunter (from Marvel's original STAR WARS spin-off) aiding Capt. Bucky O'Hare against the Toad Empire.

  5. Wow. I never noticed the JLDetroit/Arrowverse connection. It would be a shame if one of the crossovers doesn't at least send the relevant characters on a mission to Detroit.

  6. One has to wonder if Crossfire hypersonically brainwashed the rest of the JLD into going after the Beast-and-Wonder Man-era Avengers. With only Jonn proving immune because of a differently configured aural system!

  7. JLA Detroit? Liked Sue and Ralph. Liked Vixen. But didn't like the whole vibe on the thing.

  8. Anon#1: I was meaning that as far as I know, "Pirates of Dark Water" stories were PLANET-SIDE! If one ignores the way the sky looks on the cartoon, and also ignores the alien fauna, I think Mer, the planet that PODW is set in, could be described as being as Earth-like as the world of "One Piece".

  9. I'm disappointed that we're probably never going to hear Carlos Valdes utter my favorite quote from the comic-book Vibe, as he helped escort a super-criminal into his prison cell: "That's the life of a supervillain -- phenomenal cosmic power, itty bitty living space."

Still, some kind of nod to the Detroit JLA would be fun, even if it's just the Arrowverse versions standing together in a group for a few seconds. (And please, producers, find a way to include Megalyn Echikunwoke in that episode!)

  10. What's with the Felix the Cat obsession?

  11. Just a jerk who wants to ensure the character never appears here I'm guessing.

    1. I used to work with someone just like that. He insisted on sneaking in Felix the Cat on a regular basis. I don't know where he is now.

    2. Hey Ross, don't let a child keep you from using one of the greatest cartoon characters ever!

    3. Fiddle Faddle, I'm glad you appreciate the covers posted on this blog, but you should also appreciate that asking for the same thing three days running does not show due respect for Ross who produces everything by himself, voluntarily.

He may end up using Felix, he may not. All you will do by continuing to ask will be to annoy other readers and Ross.

While you wait to see what happens, why not collect some Felix stamps?. https://shop.auspost.com.au/;pgid=YjhQKHOkVLRSRpsnpDmY5VdA0000bqk-IYYL;sid=hd2QdFsuEYqfdAYPqD2Rl6z8ZZNjkIqIbKRB0rJX

    4. I think Fiddle Faddle may be mentally challenged, God bless him. There's a guy that goes to my local comic shop like that. They tend to obsess about nonsense and repeat the same things repeatedly. Its sad.

  12. Why does PAD sound familiar?

  13. I can 'see' the story behind this leading to J'onn looking to help Spector w/ his mental issues at the end the way he did in the JLU episode w/ Wildcat and his fighting. This is another cover I've seen here I'd love to write.

  14. I can see this version of Crossfire simply being a hired dupe in the employ of Ares (of the DCU Mt. Olympus) and Seth of (the Marvel multiverse Heliopolis).
