Hey, whatever happened to the Booster Gold movie? I've heard plans for either a solo film or a buddy film with Blue Beetle in the past, but nothing for a few years. DC is known for announcing movie projects that ultimately go nowhere, so I shouldn't be surprised (still waiting for Justice League Dark, for instance). Still, DC seems to be having more success showing off its less grim and gritty side, so maybe they'll give Booster another look.
great cover, Ross. I'm not a fan of this version of Booster. He seems to be an alt timeline derivative. I get that the original BG got "upgraded", but this version isn't all there and creates far more damage than he fixes..🚽
ReplyDeleteComing soon: (X-Babies + Powerpuff Girls) vs. (Mojo & Mojo-Jojo) ?

Wow! This is great! And such an perfect one to cross over together, too! I could see Mojo going after the early version of Blue Devil, too.

If the Donald would be shameless enough to Taj Mahal-ize the Notre Dame Cathedral, maybe you could pair Biff Tannen and Shrek.
ReplyDeleteRoss, have you considered Mojo vs Mojo (the Green Lantern)? That sounds just weird enough to be a great cover!
ReplyDeleteYou mean Mojo vs. Mogo?
DeleteThis is a surprisingly natural pairing, Ross, and I'm surprised it hasn't come up before. Mojo would certainly give Booster a challenge.
ReplyDeleteI do know that fans have been asking for Booster Gold to make an appearance (or even join the cast) on Legends of Tomorrow almost since the show was announced. I know I'd love to see it, especially if it makes for Booster meeting Jonah Hex -- and I also know of requests to drop Jonah off in the future era where he got his mechanical horse.
Speaking of Jonah Hex and his mechanical horse, I think that'd be a good place to cross over with the original Star Trek crew. Gene Roddenberry sold that show as "sort of Wagon Train in space," so the sci-fi/Western mix with Jonah should be a good mix.
Either Jonah or Booster would also be a good mix with Doctor Who, if it hasn't happened already.
I don't know, Ross. I think we stand a better chance of seeing a clean-shaven Jason Mamoa using blue contacts and blond hair dye for AQUAMAN 2.
ReplyDeleteLook how long it took Shazam! to get out of development hell.
ReplyDeleteTrust me! It should've stayed, there.
ReplyDeleteBut, as for today's cover? If this was a direct-to-video animated feature, I'd snatch it off the shelf, and head for the nearest cash register, in a NY minute!
