The Black Widow solo film finally seems to be getting underway, with Cate Shortland named as director and Florence Pugh tapped to co-star as a fellow agent. No word on whether any other Marvel heroes will be showing up, but I wouldn't mind seeing Winter Soldier or Hawkeye as part of the mix. My first choice would be Daredevil, but I know that wont be happening.
These two first crossed paths in STF #735
Suitably dramatic rendering! I don't recognize the antagonist, though. Is that Anarky? Or one of those ex-CIA "Magicians" Batman once faced?
ReplyDeleteLike Cary, I love the layout on this cover, but I don't recognize the bad guy. I would've guessed Brother Blood; my first thought was the Confessor, though he'd probably be working with these two rather than against them. Of course both guesses are wrong when I really think about what they look like versus this guy.
ReplyDeleteAs to the Black Widow solo film: yes, Daredevil will still be within the two-year "cooling off" period, and thus off-limits. There still might be time to include some of the characters from the Fox takeover (those related to X-Men and Fantastic Four), though I can't think of any who'd be appropriate to Nat's background. I'd love to see Coulson be a part of things, though, even if it's just a small part (like in Captain Marvel.
A good team-up!
ReplyDeleteHas any version of DC's Huntress ever met Marvel's one (Bobbi Morse, better-known afterwards as 'Mockingbird') here?
@Simreeve: Evidently not.
ReplyDelete@ Simreeve // I doubt it, since Marvel's Huntress one-shot was done in black @ white.
ReplyDeleteThe Black Widow on the cover looks so Don Heck I had to look down at the links to found it was not. I hear the movie is going to be set in the past, a prequel before her first appearance in the MCU.
Not for 2 Flavourful years.
ReplyDelete"FlavorfuL?"
ReplyDeleteDoes that mean she'll be co-starring with (Ilya) Baskin and (Tony) Robbins?
Ross: I just noticed the names above the UPC, which I assume are artifacts of the original cover detailing the names of the writer, penciller, and inker for the interior story. I think it'd be fun (if it's not too time-consuming) to make that a regular part of your covers, featuring whoever you think would work the characters and story best -- and/or the names of contributors who made the suggestion, if any.
ReplyDeleteI'd just put Bob Haney and Jim Aparo for every cover!
ReplyDeleteSimreeve, Huntress is the sister of Mockingbird's ex-husband, so maybe one of these days.
ReplyDeleteFor those wondering (especially Cary Comic), the masked guy shooting at Huntress is Deathangel, a killer that she and Robin (Tim Drake) faced off with in the 'Benedictions' story from Showcase '93.
