When The Flintstones were brought to the big screen, I figured that a live action Jetsons movie would follow soon afterwards. With the recent successes of humorous outer space action films, and the name recognition and nostalgia factor, I think the time is right to start looking at the property again. Ed Helms for George, Ellie Kemper for Jane and Danny De Vito for Mr. Spacely?
Too bad about Kevin Spacey- he would have been a great Mr Spacely.
ReplyDeleteHow about "Sabrina (the Melissa Joan Hart version) and Phil of the Future", where Phil is summoned in a botched attempt by Sabrina to summon Judy Jetson for a Sabrina-like sitcom (In the fashion of "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" and "Out of This World".
ReplyDelete@Los Thunderlads: Great wordplay!
ReplyDeletemy picks for a live action jetsons for mrs jetson id pick sarah michelle gellar for george id pick matt damon or paul rudd for elroy it could be any kid actor from goosebumps or stranger things judy jetson could be chloe moritz mr spacely could be jack black
ReplyDeleteI was feeling very down about the loss of Stan Lee yesterday but Ross, seeing this silly suggestion of mine coming to life is a great spirit booster :D
ReplyDeleteI really want to see DC do a book like this for real. They've done tons of DC/Looney Tunes books and DC/Hanna-Barbera books, but I want to see some Looney Tunes/HB crossovers
Oh Magoo you've done it again ;)
ReplyDeleteI don't need to see every animated creation go live-action. Cartoons make it easier to suspend disbelief on certain things because the world is already visually not like our own.
ReplyDeleteBut does Duck Dodgers have a wallet Jane can grab each morning?

ReplyDeleteDanny DeVito for Mr. Spacely, definitely. How about Camren Bicondova (Gotham's Selina Kyle) for Judy?
ReplyDeleteMike, good suggestion! And Ross, good execution!
Astro's still loyal to George, I see.
ReplyDelete@Dr. OTR: he more likely hides his money in his bill(fold).
ReplyDeleteP.S.---too bad it's not a time-traveling Ben Grimm that George's family is fawning over. I would just LOVE to hear him shout:
ReplyDelete"Jane! Stop going crazy for The Thing!"
;-)
@Dr. OTR: I thought the episode with the driving instructor that had bad experiences with female driver (and became scared of them) was really funny.
ReplyDeleteIn 2016 Arconic (split off from Alcoa) did a one-minute live-action Jetsons to promote their "futuristic" research. Check it out: https://b0wie.s3.amazonaws.com/videos/converted/315533/the_world_of_thejetsons_reimagined._arconic_html5_mp4_1479311061.mp4?JwsixQz599OhjEjRcudwRDPjCu4UXJCm
ReplyDeleteNothing to do with today's cover, but can I suggest Kang the Conqueror vs. Starro the Conqueror, in "Title Fight"?
ReplyDeleteCary: A couple of good ones, there!
ReplyDeleteThanks! :-)
ReplyDeleteMaybe the Jetsons reboot could feature "Phil of the Future" type stories, with the titular family being marooned or "setting up shop" in the present; also with Jane and Judy being less girly.
