Iceman and Cyborg

Rumors are that the reason Wonder Woman 1984 is being pushed back 7 months is that some Flashpoint type plot elements are being added to accommodate a soft reboot of the DCEU.  This will allow for a new timeline and actors going forward.  I'm guessing the Cyborg solo film may be a casualty.  It's odd that he first appeared in Justice League and is slated to be a part of The Doom Patrol on DC's streaming service rather than with the Titans, where he really belongs.   I'd prefer to see him in adventures with Dick, Gar and Kori et al before "graduating" to the JLA, as he did in the comics.

  1. Maybe a Sliders/Scooby-doo Team-up where a Crazy Bob Barker doppelganger chases Scooby to NEUTER him; the Robot Chicken version in "Bob Barker's New Gig" was really funny!

  3. I've seen reference on another site to a "Just-Ice League" consisting of heroes with cold powers.

  4. About Cyborg in the Titans, a couple of possibilities come to mind:
    1) Timing. When Titans was first being brought to life, Cyborg was still a "movie" character. Now, with the JL flop, he seems to be available for TV and the just getting started DP show. And he apparently will be guesting with the Titans when they introduce the DP.
    2) Money. Titans already has 3 effects-heavy characters. A fourth would probably strain the budget. Hawk & Dove provide the interactions and punching that Vic would probably be stuck with at much cheaper cost. And from what I've read so far, Cyborg is going to be more of a mission-planer for the DP and not so much a field agent, which will cut down of the effects needed for him on that show.

  5. With regard to the Flashpointedness? I'll wildly guess it's being done to ret-con Wonder Woman being a veteran of the First World War. That is; reverting her to having made her superheroic debut in WWII (as originally depicted)!

With regard to today's cover? I'll guess Psimon. Perhaps out of insane jealousy over Emma Frost falling for a non-telepathic mutant.

  6. This has all the hallmark of Mr Mind. (Will there be a follow-up cover telling us the answer?)

  7. My (very possibly mistaken) understanding is that Cyborg will be making his "Titanverse" debut on Doom Patrol and then migrating to Titans.

As for this (very nicely done) cover's "Mystery Villain," I could assume the Hate-Monger or the Psycho-Pirate.

On another topic, I was about to suggest a team-up of Darkwing Duck and Captain Carrot (which I think others have done as well), but thought that they'd surely met before on this blog. Not so! I merely had the idea of the two of them teaming up in "The Hunt for Bunny Foo Foo"!

  8. I say it's the Puppet Master, using a Wundagorian clay statue of Iceman, as part of some convoluted plot by the Mad Thinker to get hold of some of Cyborg's Apokolip-tech.

  9. @my fellow Anon: I think you're half-right. I think it's more likely Thanos--using one of those slave discs he made for the Controller--trying to get hold of the Apokolip-tech. In order to get an edge on Darkseid (should they ever meet in a real-world intercompany crossover)!

  11. I get images from all over - Iceman here is from some trading card art.

  12. According to Lucy Van Pelt, that would make Iceman more popular than Beethoven.
