OK, so the DCEU is having trouble finding solid footing, but there's no reason that we can't have another series if interconnected superhero movies in addition to Marvel's. The Valiant Universe looks to be making an attempt to get in on the action, which could be cool - but what I'd love to see is a series of films featuring the Hanna Barbera heroes. Start with Space Ghost and Spin out the Galaxy Trio, Herculoids, Birdman, Shazzan and more. The kids who were fans of those shows growing up are now directors, producers and movie executives - Let's finally see those properties get some live action love!

Ah! The Council of Doom. What a "Funtastic" story arc that was!!
ReplyDeleteBut, even more importantly? I regard a crossover, like this one, being perfectly feasible here in the real world! Especially with regard to that arch-villainess, Spider Woman (alias the Black Widow).* The way Alex Toth et al. animated her for the series? She could very well be a Dathomirian Nightsister of the Spider Clan. With her fork-tongued tarantuloids actually being Charron "spidermen" from Otherspace!
*With those two names currently being intellectual property of Marvel Comics, Time-Warner might have to split the difference and use "Spider-Widow." An old Quality Comics charcter that DC has yet to revive.
They could look to the ‘Future Quest’ comic as inspiration. Heck, the Future Quest comic would make a great animated adaptation as a maxiseries.
ReplyDeleteI'd be down for a live-action "Herculoids". It'd be amazing to see Tundro and Igoo brought to life.
ReplyDeleteAnything with classic cartoon characters is always a treat at this blog.
ReplyDeleteI know they've not been in comics, but something with the Venture Bros would be great sometime (maybe with the Titans or some other teen heroes)
STAND BY FOR ACTION. Live Actors Action Retro Stingray(Jerry AndersonVerse) Motion Picture! MEReeeeeeena.
ReplyDeleteLand Speeder Summer Coming to a Drive In near you. Rated PG-13.
ReplyDeleteTRon Star Trek Crossover Music By Jerry Goldsmith, Daft Punk, & JouRneY!
ReplyDeleteDoom finds this insignificant blather on the cover unamusing.
ReplyDeleteShaZZan! Yes another Shaquille O'Neal Movie, but this time with Kaboobie and two twins with magic rings in a Magical desert of "{...Love Technique..." - New Order. "Make it so" - Captain Jean Luc Picard.
ReplyDeleteI think Brother Kellymatthew Barnes is off his medication again...
ReplyDeleteBrilliant! Another great team-up.
ReplyDelete@BrotherKelly M. Barnes: Shaq as Hanna-Barbera's favorite genie? I don't know. I think that would be--as the French might say--over ZZ Top.
ReplyDeletePersonally I'd love to see just about anything Herculoids -- like, maybe teamed up on this blog with Adam Strange.
ReplyDelete(Only, please, nothing like Will Farrell's "Land of the Lost" film. Ouch.)
Cary Comic it could be a real Recycler for your Eliminator, not to mention the Fandango.
ReplyDeleteSIDE NOTE I never thought I'd be excited about a live action Superman again, I'm really enjoying season 2 of Supergirl. This new Superman has a Kirk Allanishness that I like, and the bonus of the MISS "TESCHMACHER!" yell makes it all the sweeter.
ReplyDeleteyes.....yes....yes!!!!....i agree...space ghost in live action would be awsome!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe Jedi Knights meets Space Ghost what a combination now how about the Crew of the USS Enterprise meet The Heculoids
