Green Lantern Corps and Captain Universe

I am hoping that we are close to hearing some announcements on the Green Lantern Corps movie.  Robert Zemeckis has been rumored as someone that DC would like to direct, which would be pretty cool.  They also seem to be aiming high to get an older mentor-type Hal Jordan, I've heard Tom Cruise and Mark Wahlberg mentioned as what they are looking for.  Sadly, no news on the most important aspect of any GL film - who will be voicing Chaselon?

  1. "Voicing" him? Don't you mean acting as him? Mogo, on the other hand, might need to be done by animation.

  2. A sentient mohawked diamond with robotic limbs is gonna have to be CGI... I really hope he is included.

    The GLC vs. Xenu! *LOL*

  4. Speaking of Mogo, have you ever considered Mogo versus Ego the Living Planet?

  5. As for who will be voicing Chaselon, my vote is for Woody Allen.

  6. I've alluded to that planetary battle on a cover before, but one of these days I'd like to give it a cover of its own.

  7. Chaselon is pretty important, I grant you, but as far as I'm concerned the Green Lantern Corps begins and ends with Tomar-Re. Or as I used to call him when I was a little kid looking at my big brother's comic book collection, "Mr Chicken."

  8. 1) Ross, I stand by my statement. I'd love to see Chaselon played by an actor in a costume. Didn't remember his limbs were robotic though.

    2) LT, I second that comment about Tonar Re. He could be a link to Superman, too. Wasn't he the Green Lantern responsible for the Krypton sector when the planet exploded?

    3) People making political comments, there are other blogs suitable for that.

  9. Well, since a time-traveling Deadpool "killed off" Ryan Reynolds, how about Rob Lowe as the more mature Hal Jordan?*

*With "Diamond Jim" Cummings as the voice of Chaselon.

  10. Yes, Tomar Re was the Green Lantern assigned to protect Krypton. Building a relationship with Superman on that basis is a great idea! I could see a whole series of comics costarring that team.
