This cover, team name and all, comes from a suggestion by Mike Shirley, a

Hitman was a series that I didn't think would be my cup of tea, but after checking out an issue on a whim, I found it so entertaining that I ended up buying a bunch of TPB's t catch up on all the back issues. Funny stuff!
Andin the sequel, the squad meets ms marvel, miss America and miss Martian in 'a Hit and Miss Affair
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Ross! You have another big "hit" on your hands. :-)
ReplyDeleteHow about "The Hit Squad" meets the "Hitmons" (Hitmonchan, Hitmonlee, and Hitmontop, of the Pokemon)?
ReplyDeleteLove it! Thanks for the great covers day after day. And if you'll excuse the pun, brilliant execution!
ReplyDeleteDo one for Hitman and Deadpool. That I would love to see.
ReplyDeleteAnon #2 stole my remark. On the other hand, I'll second Anon #1's suggestion.
ReplyDeleteHow about a sequel to "Detective Chimp On The POTA" (guest-starring Hit Monkey)?
ReplyDeleteMy comic knowledge mostly covers events, characters, creators, etc. from the dawn of comic strips and comic books up to about 2000. I had to look up Hit-Monkey. Looks like a fun character!
ReplyDelete"Hit and Miss," huh, Anonymous? Love it!
By the way, when 2nd Generation Pokemon ruled (around 1 and 1/2 decades ago), a six-pokemon team of cute baby pokemon would probably include pichu, smoochum, magby, cleffa, igglybuff, and tyrogue (the baby "hitmon"); tyrogue is cuter than elekid (looking roughly like a baby form of hitmonchan (another cute pokemon)) even though tyrogue (and the "hitmons") are always male and elekid (a baby electabuzz) can be male OR female.
ReplyDeleteAnd all of them can be cut into tiny pieces if Ross does cover right.
ReplyDelete@Glenn: like Punisher vs Pokemon?
