Continued from yesterday's cover, we se nothing is ever easy where The Serpent Crown is concerned...
So, it looks like DC is really about to go through with a marriage between Batman and Catwoman. A big change, to be sure, but strong writing made it work with Superman so maybe it can work here as well. Selina Kyle always seemed like Bruce Wayne's greatest love interest and it will be interesting where things go from here.
The return of Helena Wayne!!!!
ReplyDelete@Anon: Why not? MS. Bertinelli could serve as a namesake god-sister and occasional tutor.
ReplyDeleteCatwoman is getting her own comic again, just after the wedding; given the amount to which she's already been sharing Batman's own comic lately, that looks to me worryingly as though it might mean a break-up...
ReplyDeleteI'm with Anon and Cary. It worked on the original Earth-Two, so seeing it happen in the primary continuity would be natural -- and, for me at least, quite welcome.
ReplyDeleteAs for today's cover, I see lots of story potential here. It's a shame you're not much into including characters from the Champions RPG, though; this looks like it'd be a natural story for King Cobra as a villain.
@Bob: Ross would probably use either Lord Naja-Naja (from DC); or the Daredevil foe who used to be just plain "Cobra" (before usurping leadership of the Serpent Society from Sidewinder).
ReplyDeleteLike the pair of comics very much. Catwoman would fit well in the Heroes for Hire group as long as customer did not have an item she HAD to have.
ReplyDeletereally liked this two part team-up alot, Ross...
ReplyDelete...but i was suddenly struck by a team team-up that i wonder if you might try....
Alan Moore's League of Extraordinary. Gentlemen with Aftershock Comics Rough Riders...
...what do think???
...is it a possibility???
Can't say I have ever heard of the Rough Riders.
ReplyDeletethe Rough Riders include...
ReplyDeleteTheodor Roosevelt...
Annie Oakley...
Jack Johnson, prizefighter...
"Monk" Eastman, crime boss...
Harry Houdini...
and Thomas Alva Edison....
....this week the final issue of their third adventure comes out...
one thing I always didn't like about the Earth-2 wedding was she was a career criminal, with Earth-1 or current continuity they will lose a great super-villain, although she's had the romantic interest in Bruce. To me, that really only seemed to work on the 60s tv show where it made for good comedy! On the other hand, this cover shows how she can work well as a hero, in spite of my own reservations.
ReplyDeleteEmphasis on the "was," Paul. I remember the Silver Age Huntress' origin, too. Catwoman reformed while she was in prison on Earth-2, with Bruce Wayne's total support. Which is why he was waiting for her at the prison gate when she was released on the day she completed her sentence. And she stayed on the straight-and-narrow until some doctored photos were used to trick her into committing one last heist.
ReplyDeleteThe rest is (sadly ret-conned) history.
groo and groot?
ReplyDeleteThe Rough Riders could use a few new members in Rossverse.
ReplyDeleteGreat comic.
@Anonymous: I'm forest...I mean, for it!
