This would be one of the few team-up ups with Swamp Thing where he would turn out to be the talkative one. While the dialog between the two may not be all that stimulating, I can still imagine that pairing them together could lead to a pretty fun story. I wonder what Groot would think of The Parliament of Trees - or vice versa?
I'd like them to meet that Yiddish bulldog from post-COIE "Dr. Fate."
ReplyDelete"Come, mein herren. Let us get to the Groot of your prrrroblem."
I remember (not so fondly) Marvel's 'Nuff Said' month back in the early 2000's when most of the books had no dialog. Still, this would be an interesting 'inventory' story for when a book is way-behind schedule and the letter gets pneumonia at the last minute.
ReplyDeleteI could imagine entire issue with no dialog and understanding it all. Groot and Swamp Thing against Loki on the Island of Silence.
ReplyDeleteI have dozens of potential plant-based puns going on in my head, all inspired by this cover, but none willing to come to fruition. I consider that a pity, though some may call it a relief.
ReplyDeleteI think that this story would be interesting to read. It could include bits of dialogue from secondary and minor characters, but with mostly action (supplemented by caption boxes) as Swampy tries to cure Groot.
Plus, you've once again chosen two images that go together so well that the cover could have been drawn for the purpose.
Fruition! I get it!
ReplyDelete@Ross: Doesn't mean you have to keep it. ;-)
ReplyDelete@Anon: Must you always "vine?"
ReplyDeleteGroot meets Pikachu?
ReplyDelete@BB: Tortwig would me more fitting.
ReplyDeleteGroot meets Broot?
