Jonah Hex Vs. Scarlet Witch

I was intrigued by the quick glimpse of Scarlet Witch and The Vision in the teaser trailer for Avengers: Infinity War.  It looks like they will continue to develop their romantic relationship.  They were one of my favorite comic couples so that should be interesting to see - even if the trailer also hinted at bad things in store for the synthezoid.

  1. "Who's the fastest 'Hex' in the West?"

    Good one, Ross (super-lol)!

With all due respect to Jonah, though? I'm betting on Wanda! It would be perfect payback for all those writers (who are obviously JH fanboys) who pit a time-traveling Jonah against a slightly impaired (for some paltry reason) Batman in a gunslinging or fist-fighting contest...and winning.

  2. Our local library got on Hoopla, so I now have the opportunity to go read a bunch of stuff I couldn't or didn't want to spend money on when published. I'm currently on Volume 3 of the "New 52 All-Star Western" featuring Jonah Hex and Artemis Arkham in 1880's Gotham against the Sons of Cain, the Court of Owls, and some proto-Jokers (transformed by a mis-brewed batch of Dr. Jeykell's serum!). It's actually much better than I expected!

  3. I remember liking the Amadeus Arkham and Jonah Hex comics, but I like the original run better.

I wish Hex would get a decent movie unlike the last one.

  4. @FLF: The film makers were clearly trying to amalgamate him with Lazarus "El Diablo" Lane (who was basically a Zorro/Johnny Blaze amalgam, himself).

  6. I am not a fan of westerns but there was something abut Jonah Hex I liked. I also like Hex and was sorry it was cancelled. Speaking of such how about Hex vs. the Terminator.

  7. While the Vision/Scarlet Witch was a staple of marvel for a long time the butchers ruined it permanently and it would be better for the movieverse never attempt to use it.

I liked Jonah hex especially when he was out of his usual time and place.

  8. Ross, according to the tags you haven't used the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen since the B&B days. I'd love to see them with the Legion of Super-Heroes, and maybe some of the Giffen images would not be too stylistically jarring from O'Neill's work.

  9. Great cover! And in the sequel, they join forces against the wicked Witch of the West

  10. Does anybody else here remember when Wanda -- without identifying herself at the time -- hired Power man & Iron Fist to do a job, and her secret was hinted-at by the fact that posters in the cinema foyer below their office advertised films called 'The Scarlet Avenger' and 'The Witch of the West'?

  11. I'm afraid the only Scarlet Avenger I ever heard of was a Golden Age indie superhero (now in the public domain).

  12. I'm surprised Michael Jones never posted a comment here. It's a team-up he specifically requested!
