I was glad to see Themyscira and the Amazons appear in the
Justice League trailer. The Paradise Island scenes were some of my favorite from
Wonder Woman and it's cool that we will not have to wait for the sequel to see a little more of that world.
This marks the sweet sixteenth appearance of the
WW/Cap team...
So August 6 is their anniversary. Had they waited one more month, they would have shared an anniversary with my wife and me. Today is a sort of anniversary for my wife and me, though. Twenty-two years ago today, I met my wife, and the rest is history.
ReplyDeleteI wish that these Cap/WW stories were published. This would make one heck of a good story line.
The scenes with the Amazons are back flashes so everyone who was in Wonder Woman who died, including Manilippe or however you spell her name who they gave Diana her tiara headband will be in the island fight. That much is fact... the rumor and belief is that the fight is against the first time Steppenwolf or Darksied's forces have tried to invade Earth.
ReplyDeleteI just looked back at all the other appearances of this duo and they never really had a WWII adventure. I guess with the number of this issue I expected one this time around.
ReplyDeleteSTF #472 and #1149 are set in WWII
ReplyDeleteI know the Golden Lasso is more iconic for Wonder Woman but she also has a nigh indestructible shield. Now if Cap were only to teach Diana to THROW that thing!
ReplyDeleteWonder Woman shows comparable expertise when she throws her tiara.
ReplyDeleteI just saw that trailer, today, during a matinee showing of DETROIT. If the Chief Bad Guy is supposed to be Darkseid, why does he have a horned helmet like that time-traveling psychopath, Magog?
ReplyDeleteThat's because he's not Darkseid. He's actually Steppenwolf.
DeleteI agree with the first commenter. You've woven such a good story with your 16 covers, that you nearly make me believe that the cross-overs happened. They really should. Keep it up.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jim! I have every confidence that the saga will continue.
ReplyDelete@Mateus: Well! That certainly gets my motor runnin'. ;-)
ReplyDeleteCOVER OF THE MONTH!
ReplyDeleteThis has got to be the best cover of the WW/CA pairing you've ever done! -- And you've done some truly great ones. Thank you for keeping this pairing going.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Michael!
ReplyDeleteHow about crossing over Mr. A by Steve Ditko with a Marvel superhero. See Mr. A here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mr._A
ReplyDeleteMajor shout out to Super Team family. They’re killing it with these covers. Absolutely amazing 🤩
