The Fox and The Crow

I had been hearing about a theatrical return of The Crow for a while, but the rumors seem to have stopped so I don't know if it is still in the planning stages.  I enjoyed the first film, which was ahead of it's time in a lot of ways, and hope that a new project gets underway soon.

  1. The rebooted CROW was being overseen by Relativity Media, which has been in a tailspin for a while thanks to financial difficulties. That mess is going to take a while to unfurl, so the default consideration for the new version should probably be "permanent turnaround" until it leaves their hands.

  2. Also the production had been plagued with problems. hey lost a few leads, two I believe walked and even script problems. All before any financial difficulties they say the whole project is cursed.

  5. If I remember correctly, in the silver age there were stories and covers where the Flash of the 2 earths appeared together as well as the two Green Lanterns and the Two Atoms. But I do not remember a story teaming the two Hawkmans. I would love to see the silver age Hawkman of earth 1 team up with the clothed masked Hawkman of earth 2.

  6. @Anon: the Hawkmen did team-up...in JLA (v.1) #'s 91-92 (Aug./Sept. 1971). Along with both Supermen, both Atoms, both Flashes, both Lanterns, AND both Robins!

@Ross: I never saw any of the made-for-video sequels. But, I did see the TV spin-off from the first movie (starring Mark Dacascos). It was pretty good! As to this morning's title? Very clever. A pun on DC's Silver Age FTA's, right? :-)

If DC still had the licensing rights to these characters, I would like to imagine that the Fox would need Eric's help against some evil cult known as...The Red Circle.

  7. No relation to the above Anonymice (Anonymii?):

Has Paul Patton ever teamed up with T'Challa, on this website?

  8. Yes I know they appeared together in JLA. What I meant was: the two Flashes teamed together in several of the Flash comic books, the two Green Lanterns in a few of the Green Lantern Comic and the two Atoms in a couple of the Atom comic, but the two Hawkmen never appeared together in the Hawkman comic book.

  10. Those not-twin team-ups usually played up the differences between the two (science vs. magic rings for the GLs, brawler vs scientist for the Atoms), but there wasn't all that much difference between the Hawks, especially since the alien-ness of the E1 Hawk was mostly forgotten after he left 'Mystery in Space'.

  11. True, but there were quite a few comics featuring supermen from two earths.

  13. In honor of same, here's the cleanest limerick ever recited.

There was a rich man from Pawtucket
Who his money down a well in a bucket.
But, his daughter (named Nan) eloped with a man.
    And, as for the bucket?
    Nan-tuck-et!

  14. Is the title a reference strictly to Aesop's fable or the old DC funny animal feature?

  15. Look in the background of the cover to find your answer...
