The recent announcement that
Black Lightning will be joining the rest of the DC TV lineup on the WB network has me optimistic that we may see The Outsiders in live action yet. Katana has already been established on
Arrow, as has Stagg Industries, opening the way for Metamorpho. I don't imagine there would be any conflict in using Halo or Geo-Force, so why not eventually bring Batman's allies together?
Unfortunately, that's not likely; early word is that the new series will be in a separate universe, the way Supergirl is on Earth-38 and the Flash/Arrow are on Earth-1, so unless Katana gets vibed on over this may not happen.
ReplyDeleteMaybe whatever earth black lightning is going to be on will have a katana there. You never know
ReplyDeleteInteresting DC is allowing Katana on Suicide Squad and TV.
ReplyDeleteStands to reason, Anon. Seeing as how Simon Stagg was killed by Eobard Thawne (Season 1 Harrison Wells) on the very second episode of THE FLASH! So, unless his death got ret-conned by Flashpoint, as well, the new Simon Stagg would _have_ to be written up as a parallel-Earth counterpart.
ReplyDeleteAs to this cover? I honestly can't recall Ross ever doing this match-up before. So, once again, he sets a creatively brilliant precedent!
I could see someone like Spidey joining the a group like the Outsiders, even if it's temporary. If nothing else back in the day it would've been interesting to see how Jim Aparo would draw Spider-Man.
ReplyDeleteI thought the Black Lightning show was destined for Fox, not the CW.
ReplyDeleteI checked the Outsiders' archives and they don't seem to have crossed paths with the New Warriors. Seems like a natural encounter.
ReplyDeleteIt was planned for Fox originally but Fox backed out and The CW then picked it up for pilot order.
