Brotherhood of Evil Mutants and Brotherhood of Evil

As if having a super-powered team of misfits with a wheelchair-bound leader wasn't enough to make them similar to one another, The X-Men and Doom Patrol even fought villainous groups with practically the same name!  I'd love to see more of DC's Brotherhood, I always thought they were a formidable bunch back in the day.

This cover comes about from a suggestion my David Welsh, a Patron of this blog.  Thank you very much, David!

  1. Whoa - amazing cover!
As one of many Titans fans - not trying to start an argument - I always thought The Brotherhood was very deadly. Plasmus - he could just flat out kill you with one touch, right? Warp? Send you into space, underwater or some frozen tundra - like Minnesota. Houngan could make it look like suicide...

  3. Hell yeah! Another really solid team-up because I could really see this one happening, and all hopefully with some sweet vintage John Byrne art.

Both of these teams have had some interesting line-ups and are way past overdue to return to their respective past glories.

  5. At last! The crossover I always hoped you'd do. If only so I could see my favorite confrontation...

    ROUGE VS. ROGUE!

  6. Excellent job, Ross, not just with the artwork (one of your best) but with the story. The combination of these forces would be formidable indeed, even against the combined might of the X-Men and Doom Patrol.

  10. For the pop-culturally unaware: Cary and Bob are referring to Rogue (the X-woman who can absorb the super-powers and memories of others through bare-handed contact) and Rouge (a female French cyborg who can stretch like Reed Richards while having a love/hate thing for the Doom Patrol's Chief). The two names all too frequently getting misspelled by so-called "devoted" fans.

  11. How about a team-up (or showdown) between the Freedom Force incarnation of the Brotherrhood and Suicide Squad?
