It's cool to see dc with a Titans title featuring the classic members of the team again. I was worried that there would be no place for them, with their mentors still in operation and a whole new crop of Teen Titans to take their place. Fortunately DC Rebirth recognized the value and fan base that comes with these characters and have given them a chance to shine again.

ReplyDeleteThe next Nielsen period on the CW will probably see Kid Flash meeting Speedy. THAT, I might watch out of curiosity. Partially, to see if it lays the foundation for a live-action "Teen Titans" series. And, partially, in the hope that it couldn't _help_ but be better than the recent Dominion story arc, by comparison!*

I like what you're trying to do here, but adding Namorita to the team seems redundant. They already have Aqualad and their powers are basically the same.

ReplyDeleteI'd like to see the new teen-age Unstoppable Wasp (who has one of the best new 'old' costumes) get together with the current crop of Teen Titans, who are rather short on science smarts at the moment.

ReplyDeleteActually, Dev-Em of Silver Age Krypton was once offered Legion membership via a special waiver of the "No duplicate powers" rule. He delcined because he preferred working undercover for the Sciene Police!

If I remember correctly, Supergirl becoming invited in as a member alongside Superboy was justified [in a retcon?] as being allowed on the basis that she'd already developed the power of "Super-Breath" which he -- at that stage -- hadn't; and the only Daxamite member for a lonnng time was Mon-El/Valor whose special ability was "powers like a Kryptonian, but without vulnerability to Kryptonite"; as for Winath, remember that once Lightning Lad had been brought back from the dead Dreamie actually arranged a change in Ayla's powers so that they didn't duplicate his (which wasn't reversed for years, and IIRC was followed by an in-character decision by the LSH collectively to grant a waiver in that case because of her long service.
You know, if Triplicate Girl had married Lightning Lad, the twins she gave birth to would've been more like sextuplets!*

Have you done New Warriors/Teen Titans? Seems like a no-brainer as the NW always seemed like a wannabe NTT.
