Catwoman has had many looks over the years and one of my favorites is her very first costume. She soon switched to more iconic clothing, but there's something about the full head cat mask that I found creepy and appealing as a kid. I guess once Kyle's identity was learned by the police, she didn't feel the need to conceal her face as much anymore.
Always a delight when The Windy City's Top Cop makes an appearance!

DeleteMost couch-potato historians of the comic book industry always cite (with half-serious facetiousness) that Golden Age superheroines and super-villainesses must've been truly super, indeed, to outrun male antagonists while wearing high heels. But, after recently watching a Youtubed version of that classic TV commercial, where the women's basketball team is playing a championship game in high heels? I'd say it's the footwear, itself, that was super! No doubt invented by that arch-enemy of fallen arches...

When the article's author describes that landmark as a 'Statue of Dick Tracy (In Transition)', do they mean that it/he is undergoing gender reassignment?

As long as you're in Naperville, Illinois to see the Dick Tracy statue, you might as well go to Chester, Illinois to see the Popeye (and many Popeye-related characters) statue(s). Then you can go to Metropolis, Illinois to see the Superman and Lois Lane statues (There's also a street in Metropolis called "Lois Lane"). And if you're really ambitious you can drive over to Oolitic, Indiana to see the statue of Joe Palooka.

Frankly, I'm shocked that there has never been an official Batman/Dick Tracy crossover. I think the true stars of such a story would be the collective rogues galleries of each character.
