Ms. Marvel and Wonder Woman

Brie Larson has been named as Carol Danvers / Captain Marvel, and I think that she will do a fine job in the role - I have always enjoyed her work and now she is an Oscar winner.  I had been thinking about Yvonne Strahovsky for the part, but she probably wasn't high profile enough for Marvel.  The Russo Brothers have hinted that Larson will show up in Avengers: Infinity War, so maybe we won't have to wait for her solo film before seeing her suit up.

  1. "...who is that?"

I say it's Artemis wearing a black wig.

  2. This is a pairing that I'm surprised you haven't done before, Ross. It seems like such a natural, with the similarities in both names and powers.

And yes, I agree that Yvonne Strahovsky would have been great in this role. Hopefully she'll get into the superhero biz somehow.

  3. @BG: Most fans, of both Marvel and DC, probably think Ms. Marvel and Supergirl make a more _suitable_ pairing because of the "Danvers" connection. Whereas Wonder Woman is more akin to the Squadron Supreme's Power Princess. And, so, those two are probably considered more natural for teaming up.

  4. P.S.---@ Carycomic: speaking of Power Princess; that's probably who those braceletes _really_ belong to.

  5. Jack Kirby's 99th birthday is August 28. Do you think you can do a cover to mark the occasion. I would like to see The Fantastic Four and the New Gods or The Hulk and The Demon.

  6. I wish Marvel would put Brie in the classic costume featured here. I'm not a fan of the latest 'uniform' she has been sporting the last few years.

  7. Mr. High... you'll be seeing Kirby art that day... and even before. FF, The Demon, The Hulk and at least one of the New Gods will be appearing within the next 7 days as well.

  8. If the duplicate WW is neither Artemis nor Power Princess, we can always fall back on the Super-Skrull or a White Martian.

  10. Or Superwoman from Earth-3! Speaking of which Ross, when are we going to see the Squadron Supreme square off against the Crime Syndicate here? :)

Didn't they have to replace the person whom they were imitating, by shifting that 'original' into Limbo? Or was that original limitation surpassed, or simply retconned away?

  13. Same ability. Just ret-conned into being a whole _species_ of humanoids mutated by the weird energies of Limbo.

  14. I say it's simply Ms. Marvel's mind-controlled sister...Supergirl!
