I was among the viewers that felt Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was too dark and dreary too much of the time, so I was pleased to read some reports from the set of Justice League. It sounds like lessons have been learned and that the new members, especially Ezra Miller's Flash, will bring a little bit of levity to the proceedings. I know that Zack Snyder was going for a "darkest before the dawn" type vibe, which I can appreciate - I just wish it didn't take two full movies of darkness to get there!
Not a two-parter? Who is from the MCU? Don't leave us hanging!

ReplyDelete@Ross: Considering that the movie combined the "Death of Superman" story arc with Frank Miller's now-classic graphic novel, I think the darkness of mood was basically inevitable.

While I enjoy the darker feel overall, it is a nice change of pace from the lighter MCU flicks, sometimes the film was pointlessly dark such as killing off Superman.

@Kid Kyoto: Only the Watcher clearly says it's one of the Leaguers! Meaning one of the characters on the cover, staring at him, in shock. And that's clearly Black Canary (NOT Supergirl) standing next to Green Arrow. The Silver Age Supergirl was still only a non-member ally of the JLA, back then!
