Hellboy and Ragman

I am always happy to include an all-Mike Mignola cover on the blog.  He is such a master of light and shadow that his work looks equally gorgeous in black and white as it does in full color.  I like his take on Ragman - Joe Kubert's offbeat costume design for the character is one of my favorites and Mignola gives it just the right noirish appearance.

  1. Great work!

Did anyone ever read the Batman/Starman/Hellboy series?

  5. This IS a great team-up. I'm probably the only person alive who prefers the original non super-powered version of Ragman to the mystical version....

And, yes, FreeLiverFree, I read the Batman/Starman/Hellboy series a long time ago although i don't remember that much about it.

  6. Cool cover. The mighty RAGMAN is always a welcome site. It would be great to see RAGMAN vs The TATTERDEMALION. A slugfest in the sewers!

  7. @Sonofjack Well: No, you aren't alone. There are at least two of us.

  8. I don't know anything about a super powered Ragman, but the original was great! So there might be three of us.

  9. @Anonymous: During the height of popularity, for DC's Vertigo imprint, Ragman went from being a blue-collar Batman to a supernatural avenger of evil. A sort of mystical version of Marvel's Cloak (of "...and Dagger" fame).
