I have been meaning to feature Nightshade on a cover ever since I began this blog, and I am just now getting around to it. I have always been fond of the Charlton/DC character as she was the very first superhero that my favorite artist, Jim Aparo, ever worked on (if I am not mistaken). She didn't sport the above look very long - in fact she seems to get a whole costume overhaul every time she is reintroduced.
Cool!
ReplyDeleteI read that six-issue LAW mini-series a few years back. It left a sour taste in my mouth...
I was kind of ambivalent about it, myself. Judomaster's Tiger; able to capture the whole Justice League? Single-handedly?!
ReplyDeleteMust've been the deservedly laughable Detroit JLA.
Dagger looks a lot like Dazzler.
ReplyDeleteHow about a Nightshade and Night Man team-up.
How about a Nightshade and Nightcrawler team-up? Maybe her realm is one of the other dimensions through which he takes short cuts when bamfing....
ReplyDeleteVery nice cover, Ross, and an interesting idea for a story.
ReplyDeleteI remember how excited I was the first time I heard that DC had acquired the old Charlton "action heroes". Unfortunately, I think that with a few exceptions DC has squandered whatever potential those characters had. The Blue Beetle and The Question are dead. Captain Atom, Nightshade and Peacemaker are basically in-name-only versions of the originals. I did enjoy the version of Nightshade that appeared in Shadowpact, but she bared little resemblance to the original Charlton version. Sometimes I wish the DC had given Alan Moore permission to carry out his original plans to use the Charlton characters in Watchmen because at least then there would be one memorable story that featured those characters.
How about Spidey meets X-O Manowar?
