I am surprised we didn't see Spawn crossover with more Marvel heroes. Of course it would have been cool to see him with Spider-Man by McFarlane, but there are other intriguing possibilities as well. Ghost Rider, Doctor Strange or Son of Satan would been cool choices to share and adventure with Image Comics' breakout star..
I was never crazy about McFarlane's artwork on Spidey. His figures looked more scarecrow-ish than those formerly drawn by Franks Robbins and Springer (for Detective Comics) put together!
ReplyDeleteAnd that's definitely NOT a good thing. :-(
Spawn and Hellboy would be another interesting combo. :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, this is another natural team-up, and a well-done cover.
I have to agree with Anonymous above. I'm afraid I don't like McFarlane that much as an artist, and much less as a writer. that said, this is a cool cover!
ReplyDeleteThe Crow with any of these characters would be interesting as well.
ReplyDeleteNo kidding about the potential crossovers with Ghost Rider especially, with the POV from Johnny Blaze and how much he a Al Simmons have in common..same with Dr. Strange, Damien Hellstorm, Man-Thing, Morbius, The Punisher, Venom, an Moon Knight on the Marvel side, and The Demon, Deadman, Dr. Fate, The Spectre, Zatanna, GL Alan Scott, Blue Devil, the Ragman, Black Alice, and the Phantom Stranger on the DC side.
