Continued from Yesterday's cover, it's time for Batman to call in an old friend for help. Doctor Strange is filming now, and looks ro be very cool based on the cast and set pictures that have surfaced. I'm a huge fan of Benedict Cumberbatch in Sherlock, and I can't wait to see him begin interacting with the rest of Marvel's cinematic stars.
Batman and Doctor Strange have met before, back in my B&B MS Paint Days - The first cover had them
at odds, while the second was a classic tale which
explains how every cover on this blog can exist...
All I can say is, Alan Davis is an awesome artist! I enjoyed him following up Jim Aparo on Batman and The Outsiders. Which is odd, because he has that same "roundness" that Tom Grummet has, that I just did not enjoy after Perez on Titans. I didn't care for Jose Luis Garcia Lopez after Perez either.
ReplyDeleteThat image of Batman, from JLA: The Nail is awesome!
I can't wait for Dr. Strange. I am curious to see what Ben Affleck does with Batman...
(I guess I missed that second Batman-Dr. Strange team-up with Bat-Mite and The Impossible Man - that was pretty awesome!)
Maybe one day Impy can have a rematch with Mr. Mxyzptlk. ;-)
ReplyDeleteMay I recommend Ant-Man/Scott Lang, teaming up with Insect Queen/Lana Lang. Insect Lang team-up.
ReplyDeleteI love Alan Davis, and was fully expecting to hate him when he replaced Jim Aparo on the Batman & the Outsiders, but the work he did on Lookers origin story from the very first splash page had me HOOKED and almost forgetting Jim's work! I consider Looker's origin story the LAST truly inspired work by Mike W. Bar and the BATO team, before they unfortunately jumped the shark. The 1980s from start to finish were the BEST in comics history.

ReplyDeleteI agree. Especially true of everything prior to COIE #12!
