I think that this would be a close match up. The Creeper's manic style mixed with his healing ability might allow him to get the upper hand against The Taskmaster... for a while. I guess it be up to how quickly he can strike before his own moves start to get mimicked and countered.
Another terrific job. Action packed cover with images that look great together. Featuring two fabulous, fun characters. Bigjeff
ReplyDeleteApparently (although I haven't actually seen it yet) there was similarly an encounter at Marvel between Deadpool and either the Taskmaster himself or somebody else with similar abilities, which Deadpool won because of HIS unpredictability... Martial Arts styles, his opponent could anticipate: a target who was dancing the Macarena, he couldnt...
ReplyDeleteOh, and then there the incident during the 'Dream-War' crossover between DC and Wildstorm -- before the latter was absorbed by DC anyway -- when the Midnighter (who can predict his opponents' moves) met the Joker ("Who are you," the Joker asked him, "Batman lite?") and just stood there in confusion.
^_^
the idea behind the Taskmaster is interesting, but it's poorly thought out. He could imitate the moves, but he can't duplicate spider-strength or speed with his only human muscles. Nor could he duplicate Cap's fighting knowledge. He doesn't have any super powers (last I read, which admittedly was years ago) so Thor could just punch him and poof, game over.
ReplyDeleteAnd, here, I thought I was the only one who remembered Midnighter vs. the Joker.
ReplyDeleteGood job, Simreeve! :-)
Long-time appreciator here - great job with this one! Feels just right, and I loves me some Creeper.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Big Ulf!
