Of all the DC movie projects in the works, the one I am most curious about is
Sandman. The series was such a rich tapestry of storytelling with many various styles of prose and imagery. It's going to be tough to distill it all into one film. Will the movie stick to a few certain issues, or try to encompass the series as a whole? And what of the look of the film? There are so many different directions they can go in. It's a tough property to adapt and I hope the producers can do it justice.
I would rather they do it, noir-style, so they could utilize the Golden Age Sandman (Wesley Dodd). The Green Hornet of the Gas Mask!
ReplyDeleteI was going to say Freddy Krueger was involved but I can't imagine how keeping everyone awake would benefit him :D
ReplyDelete@ Mike (whom I won't call "Shirley"): I would say it's more likely the work of Morpheus (a Moon Knight foe); Dream Queen (an Alpha Flight foe); her father, Nightmare (classic Dr. Strange foe); or Dr. Destiny (classic JLA foe).
ReplyDeleteI'd go with Nightmare & Dr. Destiny, so we'd have a dream-themed villain from each universe as well.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Morpheus would finally lose his patience and fulfill the prophecy Dream Girl made against Dr. D back during "The Lightning Saga".
Note: I am both Ivory Bill Woodpecker and Kid Charlemagne. I forgot to switch names last time. *Derp* :P
ReplyDeleteLike the first Anon above, I'd like to see Wesley Dodd on the big screen, noir-style.
ReplyDeleteAnd taking off of Anon's metaphor, maybe see him team up in these pages with the Green Hornet?
There's a Sandman/Green Hornet cover on here, posted November 2014
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip, Ross. (I was just too lazy to look it up!)
