Green Lantern and Iron Man in: "Weapons Testing!"
Well, we were teased with the rumor that Chris Pine would be playing Hal Jordan in the upcoming Justice League and Green Lantern Corps films, but it turns out he will be Steve Trevor in Wonder Woman, as originally rumored. The latest name I have heard for the role of Hal Jordan is Jake Gyllenhaal, which I think could work. We'll see if this rumor has any more validity.
Iron Man and Green Lantern have a bit of history on the blog:
They first clashed way back in Issue #33...
It was Iron Man's turn to take the upper hand in their next meeting...
Finally they fought side by side in their third outing...
And Stark joined the Corps in their last adventure.
Iron Man and Green Lantern are naturals for a team-up! It's a shame that the Big Two haven't given done anything about that. Missed opportunity right there.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I would love to see Hal in a rebooted Green Lantern film, I think I'd rather see John Stewart. Then come back to Hal in a sequel.
Alan Scott. Yes, I know the chances of Earth-Two making it to the big screen are slim and none, but a guy can dream, and if done right, it'd be a terrific movie.
ReplyDeleteCome to think of it, Tom, I'd like to see Ross do a cover with Golden Age GL vs. Silver Age Iron Man! Because, even with the red-shaded areas of the latter's armor increasing its vulnerability to Hal's power ring, Alan Scott's power ring woulg give Tony Stark an even bigger run for his money. Due, of course, to its one weakness being wood (as opposed to the color yellow).
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, Tom. In fact, I'd like to see Ross do a "cover" featuring Golden Age GL vs. Silver Age Iron Man. Because, even with the red-shaded areas of the Tony Stark's armor making it more vulnerable to Hal Jordan's Silver Age power ring, Alan Scott's Golden Age power ring would be twice as effective against said armor. Due to its sole weakness being wood (as opposed to the color yellow).
ReplyDeleteTony merely needs to go back to the all-yellow armor of his early days.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, DC, what were y'all thinking with finding such commonly available weaknesses for Hal and his colleagues--or for the Martians, for that matter?
Of course, that was the Silver Age, in which Kryptonite was apparently available in carload lots. xD
@Kid Charlemagne:
ReplyDeleteMaybe Silver Age DC Earth was located at a hyperspace intersection... the same as Marvel Earth-616.
