It would have been fun to see these two share an animated adventure. Not only would it be cool to see Jack slicing through The Tick's rogues gallery, the clash in personalities between the heroes would make for some enjoyable interaction. I am sure they would still see the heroic natures within one another, despite their differences.
"Spoon!"
ReplyDeleteI've still not seen the live action The Tick series. The cartoon was pretty cool. If you've read the original comics, there was an extra added feature. A dark re-telling of Yogi's Ark-remember that cartoon? A very somber short story. They seem to be searching for land. Ranger Smith's fate is not a happy one. It took me a couple of readings to get the gist of it, it is pretty cool.
Quirky enough concept to be appealing (in a "Darkseid vs. Capt. Pureheart" kind of way). But, how would Samurai Jack have gotten to the late 20th/early 21st century, in the first place? One of Sonic the Hedgehog's Chaos Jewel portals?
ReplyDeleteSamurai Jack was always hopping through time, who knows who he bumped int along the way?
ReplyDeleteThis team-up really should include Paul the Samurai.
ReplyDelete@AirDave: Most, if not all, of the series is on YouTube. Just search for "The Tick Live Action." It's essentially Seinfeld with tights.
@ Ross and other Anonymous:
ReplyDeleteI have to respectfully disagree with you. He had a lot of mental flashbacks to the past (a la Kwai Chang Caine). But, he was stuck in the far future for his entire three season run. The only two times he _could_ have made it back to the past, he failed. Once; because of Aku's trickery. And, another time; because he couldn't let two traveling companions needlessly sacrifice themselves on his behalf.
Yeah, but this is the Earth-STF Samurai Jack.
ReplyDeleteIf a new Tick movie were to be made, I'd want it done by the team that worked on Megamind, and with Ty Burrell as the voice of the lead himself.
ReplyDeleteDear Ross:
ReplyDeleteHere's an idea I bet is too zany for even you to implement. SAMURAI JACK MEETS THE 4TH DOCTOR!

Nah! It'd be more sensible for him to meet Mr. Peabody and Sherman.
