Nick Fury Vs. The Creature Commandos

The Creature Commandos from Weird War Tales was one of those concepts that pulled from multiple genres - superhero, war and horror - and somehow worked for me.  I liked them even better when the G.I. Robot joined their ranks.  They may not have had the name recognition of some other groups, but they were definitely one of the cooler looking teams out there.

  2. Actually, Ivan, that's one of the last things Marvel ripped--plagiari-- I mean, pastiched ("Yeah, that's the ticket!") from DC before the former's current "Battleworld" story arc.

  3. As in; Marvel's Bronze Age HC's were thinly-disguised imitations of the Creatures Commandos.

  4. I didn't read much of their early adventures I only read the ending where they were lost in space but I did read their revival in the mid-2000's and their appearance in Superman during the Krypton War and I liked them

  5. Having Marvel's HOWLING COMMANDOS meet DC's CREATURE COMMANDOS would be a natural follow-up.

  7. Not trying to be a DC fanboy, but I wonder if the Anonymous calling DC's Creature Commandos a ripoff has ever noted the great differences between the original Howling Commandos and their post-Creature Commandos version...

  8. My point, exactly. The 2005 Howling Commandos were an undeniable rip-off of the 1980 Creature Commandos.

So, put that in your pipe and vape it, Anonymoose! :P
