It was fun to see the Hulk back in action in
Avengers: Age of Ultron (A blast of a movie, even if the safe house scenes did drag and Ultron's appearance & character were a bit off for me) , but I have to say that I was hoping he would get a little more dialogue. He didn't even get to speak at all this time around, unless I missed it. I think the Hulk works much better with The Defenders anyway. It's too bad that scattered rights issues will prevent a film with the above cast from appearing together for the foreseeable future.
So let's see. Most likely, Valkyrie swapped bodies with Dumb Bunny; Dr. Strange with Merryman (they're both the leaders, more or less); Sub-Mariner with Awkwardman (whose mother was a mermaid); Silver Surfer with the Blimp (the galaxy's fastest flier and its slowest flier); and that leaves the Hulk and the White Feather (because a chicken-hearted Hulk is just plain funny).
ReplyDeleteHmmm... I wonder how a White Feather/Man-Thing team-up would go? It'd probably be the shortest story ever.
@ BB: I'd rather see Merryman and the Hulk swap bodies. Just to hear the latter exclaim:
ReplyDelete"Hulk is NOT merry man!"
Ha, sounds good to me, Bob!
ReplyDeleteI think it would be most awesome to see a direct left-to-right body swap. Dumb Bunny in the body of Doctor Strange would be a scary proposition, and Merryman in the body of Valkyrie has its own potential for comedy. I can also see White Feather, in the body of the Silver Surfer, refusing to fly too high or too fast, being scared of heights or high speeds -- then finally trying it in an emergency, only to faint in mid-flight and crash into the side of a skyscraper.
ReplyDeleteThanks for yet another fun team-up.
ReplyDeleteI recognize that image of the Defenders from the pin-up in Defenders #6.

Come to think of it, Morlun the Inheritor would be a great one to bring these teams together (via his pursuit of local Spidey counterpart, "The Cobweb Kid").
ReplyDeleteI agree that the Hulk worked better as a Defender. Nowadays, people sometimes refer to the Hulk as one of the "core Avengers". He'll never be a core Avenger to me. He helped found the team at the end of the first issue, then quit at the end of the second. He just fits better with the Defenders.
ReplyDeleteAmen, Alaric.
