Robin and Bucky in "The Legend Must Live!"
TNT's upcoming Titans series has announced its cast (Nightwing, Barbara Gordon, Hawk & Dove, Starfire, Raven), and it has me interested in the series, as I am a fan of all of the characters. Most interesting to me was the revelation that Dick Grayson will begin the series as Robin and viewers will get to see his transition to Nightwing. I am looking forward to this classic character finally getting his due in live action - the Chris O'Donnell and Joseph Gordon-Levitt versions didn't really do him justice.
Robin and Bucky have a bit of history on STF: The Lost Issues:
There was the time they tackled zombies together...
They met later in their careers as Nightwing and The Winter Soldier...
They met when their teams shared an adventure...
Bucky has even tried to take over for Robin, once solo, and once with The Young Allies.
Cool cover!
ReplyDeleteThe line-up is very "bird"-centric: Robin, Hawk, Dove, Raven and Batgirl. Only Starfire flies, if that's what's going to happen. My question is, Where's Mal? Where's Donna or Lilith? This is kind of a lopsided line-up...
I hope that they will develop the series by introducing characters.
Since Witchblade and Birds of Prey, I won't watch a show until it's been on a while...
Chris O'Donnell's Robin was less campy than the Burt Ward original. And, it was certainly more faithful to Dick Grayson's back story than the needless JGL reboot!
ReplyDeleteO'Donnel was just 10 years too old for the role, he looked older than Batman in half of the scenes they shared together.
ReplyDeleteI blame that on the casting of Val Kilmer as Batman. At that time, Kilmer would've made Brad Pitt look like a senior citizen, by comparison! Now, if Shadowy Alec Baldwin had had been cast as the Dark Knight, instead...
ReplyDeleteHere's a team up , U.S,Agent and the Red Hood.
