Who would have thought that Ant-Man would beat the JLA to the movies by a year? One is a movie I never expected to see, and now that it's happening, I am dying to find out how it is pulled off. The other is something I have been waiting for since watching Super Friends and eating a bowl of cereal, as a kid. I am glad we have finally reached a point where special effects technology makes a movie of this scale possible. I am looking forward to both, it's a great time to be a comics fan, cinema-wise.
This is a great put-together, it likes like it was actually an issue. By the way; I figure the Manhunter From Mars is the imposter.
ReplyDeleteI never thought I would be MORE excited about an Ant-Man movie than a Justice League movie. The Justice League animated series - and the comic book companion series set the bar for me. That, and Alex Ross' Justice series and the oversized Liberty And Justice one-shot. Yeah, I like action movies, but I think Justice League as a film needs to distinguish itself from The Avengers by being a different story. Darkseid is not the response to Thanos or Ultron.
ReplyDeleteThe impostor is...Scott's Cousin Lana (posing as Hawkgirl)!
ReplyDeleteHope Garrett Morris makes a cameo appearance at least.
ReplyDelete@Air Dave: You're on the nose about choosing the villain/antagonist for JLA. Darkseid has already been danced around in "Smallville" and would definitely be seen as conceding defeat to Marvel as far as original ideas go (ironic, in light of Kirby-fan Starlin introducing his Thanos shortly after Kirby introduced Darkseid, but most movie goers don't know that). They need a JLA-specific menace, like Amazo, Starro or Doctor Destiny (who was killed a year ago after being reintroduced into New52). At this point, I'd settle for Amos Fortune or the Royal Flush Gang.
